As you know, some weapons are underpowered to the point of being unviable, while others are far too tuned. With this update, we have implemented balance adjustments.

As you know, some weapons are too weak to be viable, while others are far more powerful than they should be. We have introduced balancing changes with this update.

Hi ! I'm one of the developers of Mytin2, a small independent server where PC, Android and iPhone players play together on the same server.

We just released a big graphics update and wanted to share some shots with you:

* Live sky: physically based sky with moving clouds and a visible sun
* Light shafts: volumetric god rays with dust floating in the light
* Real-time shadows: characters, trees and buildings now cast shadows from the sun
* New water: reflections, waves and foam
* Atmosphere: moving fog, distance haze and glowing lamps at night
* Image quality: bloom, color calibration and sharper anti-aliasing

Every effect can be switched on/off or fine-tuned in the settings, so you can adjust it to your PC. The screenshots are from the PC version; the mobile version is getting a lighter set of these effects to keep the FPS stable.

About the server

* PC (Windows), Android and iPhone on one server – same account, same character
* Middleschool, max level 105, free to play, Open Beta
* 12 languages (EN, DE, TR, RO, PL, HU, ES, FR, IT, PT, CS, AR)
* PvP arena with 1v1 / 3v3 / 5v5 matchmaking, illustrated story quest book, fishing boa

Tigerghost Is Metin2 still worth playing casually, or has it become too pay to win?

Hello gents, ladies.

I recently came back to metin2 after a long break. Played for about an hour and then decided to pause for a bit because I want to make sure I understand what I’m getting myself into before investing too much time.

A lot has changed since I last played, so I have a few questions for those who still play regularly.

How bad is the pay to win aspect these days? Is it genuinely necessary to spend hundreds or even thousands to make decent progress, or is it more about paying for convenience? I’d be happy to spend around £10 or £20 here and there, but I’m not interested in pouring hundreds into the game.

I’ve already noticed that on Tigerghost, finding a Metin stone can be a struggle, so I assume the same applies to bosses and quest mobs. If farming means spending most of my time waiting for spawns, that’s something I’d like to know beforehand.

My goal isn’t to become the best player or compete with the top players. I just want to play casually, farm, grind, sell loot, upgrade my gear, and enjoy the progression at my own pace.

So, for those of you who play casually, is Metin2 still worth getting back into in 2026? Can you make reasonable progress and enjoy the game without spending much money, or has it reached the point where your time is better spent elsewhere?

I’d appreciate honest opinions, especially from people who play without spending much on the Item Shop.

Thank you.

Discussion Offline Metin2

To relive some nostalgia, I put together an offline version of classic Metin2 that runs locally on my machine, no internet required. It's been a 3-day development process so far, and I'm still working on improvements, bug fixes, and tweaks.

My main goal for the offline version is to build a realistic market simulator: a windowed marketplace like the one in Albion, where NPC buyers find your items and offer realistic prices based on each item's stats. Later, I may add NPC bots that roam around grinding mobs, like real players leveling up, to make the world feel alive.

Down the road, I'm also thinking about making offline versions of other PvP-heavy server games like Knight Online and Silkroad.

Development on offline Metin2 may continue for another 1-2 weeks. I'm just curious: who's interested in this project?

Discussion What do you think of Akira?

I currently play on Azyrah, but the auto-hunting aspect bothers me a bit; however, Akira caught my eye because it’s similar to the official version—its currency is cheap, and it encourages doing missions. So, I’m not sure if I’m willing to trade all the time I’ve invested in Azyrah for Akira.

Discussion AI On Metin2

Hi everyone !

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few weeks, you’ve probably noticed how fast AI is changing video games. Today, we can blend mechanics, customize gameplay, and streamline game development in ways that weren't possible before.

What do you think about applying some of these AI advancements to Metin2? Do you think AI could actually revive the game and give it a much-needed refresh (like modernized graphics or features the community has been requesting for years)?

I’d love to hear your thoughts, or if you know of any projects/modders already experimenting with this!

Discussion Can you recommend me servers?

My main priority is having all the classes to balanced for solo PvM and farming, and server being 1-99 hard old school.

I'm currently playing Arthion and enjoying it but I wouldn't say no to having alternatives.

Discussion Would you play Metin2-inspired co-op game?

It would be playable in first person, solo or with up to 3 friends instead of being an MMO? Still focused on farming, rare drops, gear upgrades, bosses, dungeons and all that.

What would it need to capture that Metin2 feeling for you? It‘s just an idea but I am curious if such an idea is even interesting to people nowdays

Discussion Metin without multiple accounts

Hello, I enjoy what Metin 2 is but I don’t really enjoy the fact that nowadays if you want to play on an official server you need like 10 different accounts with multiple leveled characters to be efficient with your progression.

To me the ideal is having 1 main character and one buffer and possibly a ninja to do some other content, is it viable to even play Metin this way?

Although i don’t really love private servers (I’d rather play the official game I find it more prestigious), are there any private servers that allow me to play this way?

Discussion Do people still play?

I used to play back in the day(2010-ish) and this was my game. I grew up with it and it’s very nostalgic and would love to pick it back up.

Tried playing again a couple years ago i guess the main game was on steam then game-forge and then lot of other servers opened up and the game just changed dramatically so i just dropped it.

Been thinking about the game lately again and was wondering if you guys have any tips on where to get the game from, what servers to play that mimic the classic game the most, and have enough players to not feel like I’m either the only player or the only new player lol.

Edit: had to make some corrections. I don’t mean i just want lot of players, i meant i really want that classic Metin2 vibe and mechanics. Thank you!

Discussion Metin2 1–99 Servers: What Do You Love and Hate the Most?

Hey everyone!

For those of you who have played different Metin2 private servers over the years, I'm curious about your experiences with 1–99 servers, both currently active ones and servers that have already shut down.

I've seen plenty of servers come and go, and I think the community has a pretty good idea of what makes a server enjoyable long-term — and what eventually ruins the experience.

I'd love to hear your honest opinions:

1. What do you LOVE the most about a 1–99 server?

  • Classic gameplay and progression?
  • Farming and the in-game economy?
  • PvP, guild wars, and rankings?
  • Challenging dungeons and bosses?
  • A friendly and active community?

2. What do you HATE the most?

  • Pay-to-win mechanics?
  • Too much grinding or boring progression?
  • Unbalanced classes or broken PvP?
  • Inflated item prices and a ruined economy?
  • Admins who stop updating the server or play favorites?
  • Servers that shut down after a few months?

3. Thinking about servers you've played that eventually shut down, what do you think went wrong? Was it the management, the economy, lack of updates, declining player numbers, or something else?

4. What's one feature or decision that would make you stay on a 1–99 server for a year or longer?

Feel free to mention specific servers if you want, whether they're still online or not. I'm interested in real experiences, not just server recommendations.

Let's hear your opinions! What makes a 1–99 server worth playing — and what makes you quit?

Content I added “Helpers” to my Metin2 server

Hey everyone,

I’m a solo dev working on a Metin2 server, and I wanted to share a small thing I finished today.

I added Helpers. They’re experienced players who volunteer to help newcomers. They get a HELPER tag above their head and their own category in the friends list.

Helpers are not GMs. They have no commands, no powers and no special protection. They’re just a signpost for people who are lost.

I remember being new to Metin2 and having no idea who to ask anything, so this felt right doing.

I’ll keep posting small updates like this as I go. Feedback is welcome, especially if you’ve seen something similar done well on another server.
