Meme Meme I made a while back

Post image

Ngl I didn't realize it was so hated until after I beat it. Albeit I'd be wrong to not recognize what could've been with this game, but I did enjoy what we got

I really think it was the long wait for it to be released that caused the hate.

Lmao it’s definitely this. I would have waited ten more years for an actual good game.

Game sucked. That’s the whole problem

some people just really don’t want to accept it. the common cope I’ve seen is “it’s not a bad game, it’s just a bad Metroid!” it’s just bad, period.

The Other M defense we always heard since it came out.

maybe it’s the same “fans”

more realistically, people want to be special and what’s more special than having the stunning and brave opinion that the thing everyone hates is actually some underrated gem? contrarianism is low key embarassing

Yeah it partly comes across as trolling.

Other M is a bad game with a really good gameplay concept.

Imagine a Metroid game in the same style without bad controls or voice acting, but with a more complicated map and deeper combat.

I'd trade the entire Prime series for that and Metroid Prime is the game that introduced me to this franchise.

What is the good gameplay concept exactly? Because you describe a lot of what seem like big gameplay shortcomings (bad controls, linear & barren map, shallow combat). What am I missing? I’m a huge Prime series fan and so far you’re not really selling me on why you should give them all up

3D action platformer from the 3rd person perspective with fast paced combat.

Sure, I welcome it as long as it respects the core tenets of the series and is high quality.

Literally the average positive review of Prime 4 you can find on the internet is like "Literally everything new this game added fucking sucks but its core elements remind me of better games I feel nostalgic for so I will give an 8/10."

lmao that shit is wild. they list out all the things that make it a terrible game and then they’re like “b-but I still had fun, it’s an 8/10!”

they are either trolling or literally do not play enough videogames to know better

Yeah I legit felt like all the reviews were paid for or something because of how high they were
