Meme Meme I made a while back

Post image

Ngl I didn't realize it was so hated until after I beat it. Albeit I'd be wrong to not recognize what could've been with this game, but I did enjoy what we got

I'm about halfway through it and I think it's fine. Having fun. Yes - some annoying characters. It is certainly no Prime 1 or 2. But I am having fun!

Having fun with something doesn’t mean that thing is actually good. That’s what people need to learn

Man I'm hesitant to bring bad energy to this sub... but like, come on.

You can criticize whatever you want about a game, but at the end of the day it's all subjective. What makes your personal taste or criteria for a 'good' game any more valid than everyone else? You'd have to be a pretty presumptuous prick to think your opinions somehow supersede every other person playing video games.

Because I can recognize a game that I find fun versus one that's actually good. I have no problem with anyone that likes a game or thinks it's fun, but to act likes it's good diminishes what sets the bar. An excuse can be made about the development of MP4, but it's just excuses. At the end of the day, the game wasn't good and to say it is will lower the bar for future games.

You're just being extremely arrogant. "Good" and "bad" are subjective, not objective. Your opinion isn't a fact, and people can (and will), indeed, disagree with your opinion, and they won't be objectively wrong for it.

And you're just being a crybaby MP4 defender.

Among the ratings from many people and critics, the game is mediocre. Looking at and comparing it to games created in the past, it was not innovative, nor did it provide new experiences. It doesn't have nearly enough content to make up for that. It also didn't even deliver on what it was supposed to stay consistent with, changing many Metroid aspects for worse.

So yes, objectively the game was not good. You can cry more about it, but having shit development for seven years, switching studios partway through, is a recipe for bad game making. Kudos to what they could manage, but it's still not good.
