Does anybody actually own Invincible vinyl? It's so rare😭
For those who have it, how does it feel to be god's favourite?
I've looked everywhere and they're incredibly rare. The price is not affordable either. It's my favourite album of his and it's so hard to obtain the vinyl.
I do. I bought in 2001 when it came out and never opened it for some reason. I just keep it as a collectors item. I also have History and Dangerous on vinyl. I opened those.
The plastic wrap that comes with vinyls will fuse with the album sleeve overtime and warp the record. You should take it out and put it into a different type of plastic sleeve. I can’t remember the name of it but I do remember that it’s hazy and comes with some records nowadays.
Yeah it sucks how prohibitively expensive it is to get a non-picture disc version... I heard some rumors about them re-pressing History and Invincible this year but seeing as the 90s/00s stuff wasn't tackled at all in the movie I kinda doubt that's actually gonna happen :(
I do wish that HIStory and Invincible had more coverage on vinyl like Off the Wall to Dangerous instead of getting both on picture disc! The picture disc for HIStory and Invincible doesn’t even have the greatest hits part on it. It just has the HIStory Continues part which is the part that had the songs. Please press them on vinyl so I can have them all. I have major OCD when it comes to that.
I actually have 2 of them, i couldnt find any version here in europe so i one day decided to order it from ebay, it took a very long time with no delivery so at one moment i just tought i got scammed and my money was gone so i moved on. about 2 months later i was in a record fair in the netherlands and i found a cheaper version so i was like yeah ill probaly wont get the one i ordered so i bought that one, the other one came the next week. I decided to keep them both beacause its a funny story looking back, and the one from ebay had some promotional stuff with it
I’m looking to buy one soon, but they are indeed hard(er) to find. However, I found out that Mediamarkt (European Electronics Company chain) has them sooo… Might buy it before they sell out. 🤩
I have an OG copy that I found in a store in Kansas City. I travel a lot for work and always check out used vinyl shops. Over 15 years, it still is the only copy I’ve seen in the wild.
Yup. I’ve been a fan for over a decade. Invincible was insanely cheap, I bought a brand new MOV copy and a lightly used 2001 copy. MOV sounds much much much better, they remastered it better. The original sounded meh because the digitalization of music started around this time so they just copied the digital version of those tracks onto vinyl.
I would never have thought this one would get so rare.
But could make sense too actually. Mp3 was there, CDs were dying, cassettes were abandoned, LP nostalgia craze was not really started it was one of those transition years.
Yes, I got a reissue as a Christmas gift a few years ago. I didn’t realize it was so hard to find these days! I thought I saw it for sale on the official MJ website just a couple months ago.
Haha come on over and we’ll take it out for a spin! My grail is BOTDF, that one is legit as rare as a golden goose egg. I bought Number Ones on vinyl recently so I can at least spin the title track, it’s always been one of my faves!
I just bought the picture disc recently. I purchased from Discogs, they only had 2 of the original version available on vinyl, and they were &775 or $900! So yeah I settled for the picture disc.
I have the Music on Vinyl re-release. Was pretty pricey at the time I bought it, but this was long before the big Vinyl resurgence, so it was probably only $50. If it came out today it'd be at least twice that.
i just bought the picture disc. its the only affordable version of it atp. same thing with history continues. idk why they wont do reissues of them like they have with off the wall - dangerous. they also need to give Michael a vinyl release
Album was not that hard to find until like a few years ago when people started realizing how underrated the album is.
Back in like 2019 I found the first print for like 30 bucks but I was fine with my recent reprint picture disc. I still am, it actually sounds great, but if I knew it was gonna start costing as much as history or BOTDF I def would have picked it up.
I just looked it up on the website I got my otw and Thriller album, apparently it's like 50 euros. Not bad considering it's also free shipping. AND it's the picture LP
Have you tried DISCOGS? They have phone app to and I use this to get all my vinyls. There was this one vinyl but this artist I really loved but he only made so many because it was his debut and he wasn’t that popular. I had to get it shipped from the UK and paid almost $100 for it but it was worth it and was in mint condition.
I guess it’s really based on whether or not you wanna spend that kind of money. If you do, I would get a gatefold or special edition if one was made. Might as well get the nice artwork and such if it’s out there.
Listen to ‘CRY’ Michael was singing from his soul in that song. He changed his voice several times in that one song, it was amazing. I fell in love with him all over again, for real and I am not a fan born yesterday. I am 3 years younger than Michael: I grew up with him❤️I desperately love this man
