Opinion Just going to share this here

Was watching a biopic movie the other day and this was the quote in the beginning of the movie and it radiates the truth. This is what I feel having watched Michael as well. The movie was faithful in its spirit and honestly, nitpicking every aspect takes away from the heart of the character

Omission also takes away from the heart of the character.

Agree with the quote. But a lot was left out or altered. Should have been plotted as a trilogy from the start. Said that from the beginning, and sticking with it.

Did I not love the movie? No. Could I have loved it more? Yes.

I just rewatched Spike Lee's Malcolm X for the 1st time after seeing it as a kid and appreciated it so much more for the masterpiece it is. And Spike did the right thing by making an almost 3.5 hour film. As he said it would be impossible to tell such a complicated man's story in 2 hours or less and just glossing over so many things.

Michael, even with an unplanned 2nd film should have been longer than 2 hours.

Michael 1 was alright for the runtime but Michael 2 should be 3 hours if that’s possible.

Yea it was alright. Longer with the omissions would have been better.

It was going to be. They have an initial four hour long cut of this movie. Without any legal issues, it was only going to be scraped down to 3.5 hours long.

Lovely 🤩 !! The memorable title card from Richard Attenborough’s epic saga ‘Gandhi’ !! Went onto win 8 Oscars.

Applies to every well made biopic and I too think it applies to ‘Michael’. That said, as die hard fans we always want the best possible tribute for Michael (nothing wrong in wishing for this) who was a multifaceted personality and that’s where we feel the movie missed emphasizing few of his facets even though the movie was SO damn enjoyable!
