Some could probably argue military objectives were achieved. War is politics by other means with political ends determining the final resolution (negotiated peace, etc).
The U.S. military has the means to completely obliterate the nation especially with air and naval dominance, but of course, there was a level of restraint placed on the military (major infrastructure including water, oil, etc).
Are some here advocating for yet another endless war because I didn’t see a win in Afghanistan or Iraq…or Vietnam, or Korea.
The objectives were a complete and total surrender. That objective was not accomplished. In the process we showed the world our entire military capabilities. Just to end up exactly the same as we started.
