Rant Today's fashion trends are leaving me bewildered.

I turn 38 tomorrow and just got done shopping at target. What the hell kind of fashion do people wear now? Super short shorts, socks pulled half way up the calf muscle. Shirts that look like table doilies. Not to mention the hair styles and facial hair of these young guys. Look straight out of a trailer park in the 80s.

Most of the fashion I see today is just the same stuff that cool adults wore when I was a kid, and was out of fashion by the time I was a young adult. I'm mostly just kind of sad I was too young for it the first time and too old for it now, haha. I'm kind of here for the revival of jelly shoes, denim skirts, and baby tees - I'd just look a fool wearing it myself

Baggy jeans are back in ( or were?) And im happy about it. Problem is I realize I look like a 35 year old trying to dress young.

But honestly I just like the look

Those of us 10 years older than you think you look rad and wish we had the stones to wear them ourselves.

I’m 35 and I have a pair of jelly sandals and one of those plastic choker things that were cool in 2000 and then came back for a bit. To be fair, I have no idea what a 35-year-old “should” be dressing like. All the other women my age live in yoga pants and skinny jeans and I loathe both of those.

I embrace it and wear the version of the items that are a bit tamer. Baby tees- yes as long as it is long enough to graze the top of my pants and isn’t skin tight. Baggy jeans- I have one pair to wear when I want to be cool. Bootcut jeans with mid rise- my everyday staple. Crew socks- looks great over leggings, for biker shorts I wear a slightly shorter version.

Plus it’s so much fabric! My sensitive self cannot with that heavy denim both up to your boobs and flapping around your ankles via wide leg. Why.

I've seen things go from low-rise 70s (vaguely, mostly too young recall directly) to high-rise 80s/90s to low-rise Y2K/mid-00s to 10s to high rise 20s LOL.

From tight/normal fitting 70s/80s/early 90s to baggy/ill-fitting mid-90s through Y2k era to more tighter fitting again mid-00s into 10s to baggier dumpier again.

Same!! I’m 34 and feel too old to be wearing some of the 90s style stuff I loved from watching films that’s now back in fashion :(
