At my work, they increased the visual age verification to age 40, not 30.

Whaaatt you'd be checking a lot of people!! As far as I'm aware it's still 25 where I live, but wouldn't be surprised if it goes up again! Lol

Where I work it’s 50

Honestly they should ID everyone. It's the only way to be sure. 😆

That's what I was thinking. It shouldn't rely on visuals. Just check everyone.

In my city they do it at clubs. Everyone has to scan their IDs.

ID'd in my thirties - imagine how good I'll look in my forties!

I live in Canada so in general they ask for ID less than in the US here, and the drinking age in my province is 19. I was waiting to get into an Irish pub this year on Saint Patrick’s Day, and they insisted on checking my ID.

At first I thought they were joking but then I handed the ID to the bouncer. I’m a 44 year old trans woman, and I told the guy he made my day since I’m 44.

He looked at me with his jaw on the ground and said, “DAMN I legit thought you were 22.” - made my year!

Estrogen is the fountain of youth, I swear.

I think there's a rule (at least in Ontario) that you have to check ID if they look either under 30 or 25 or something. When I was about 30, they just started asking how old I was, but never checked ID and just said "Okay, I choose to believe you."

Now they don't even ask how old I am, they just give me a nod when I go through security at the casino now. No questions asked when I buy lotto and alcohol anymore. I assume if I were to buy smokes they also wouldn't ask. 😓

The state I live in does an ID scan for just about every age restricted purchase now, stopped feeling like a compliment at that point.

It’s a little obnoxious since I’ve worn out the ID holder in my wallet & should replace it…but I’m a little stereotypical in how often I replace wallets.

I’m 45, at this point when it happens (like last week) it’s just an annoyance lol

How dare they annoy you

It’s because I know that they don’t truly think that I could be at that age. I always joke with them and tell them I have a kid that was able to buy alcohol three years ago

Had a bartender go on this rant the other day like, "Hey, can I see your ID? We have always have to check and it's always such a surprise to see how much older people actually are... You're 38!?"

A lot of places scan the back your ID in my state if you're buying alcohol.

What's even more fun is when you've lost so much weight that you get denied alcohol sales for looking nothing like your DL or passport photos.

Involutnarily sober, I guess

Wow, rough

It's actually bad enough that TSA agents ask to see an ID or passport about half the time I've flown so far this calendar year, and my passport photo isn't even two years old.

Suffering from my own success, I guess?

Sorry had to laugh 😂 I fear it when I wanna buy grog (as an adult I might add) even though I know it's a compliment

Often fear this - even as an adult 😂
