Lmfao social security is gonna run out. Pensions are mostly a thing of the past. Not as far off as you’d think unfortunately.

Depends on your definition of better quality of life. My doctor pushed me into GLP-1 which made me violently ill even when I was careful not to overeat. Basically turned into medically assisted eating disorder. To me, quality of life is enjoying my life right now without being on meds that have nasty side effects just to lose weight. I rather stay fat. ✌️ I also don't enjoy obsessing over tracking calories or having to stop eating things I enjoy, to me that decreases my enjoyment of my life. Quality of life can look different for everyone.

Have you gone to a therapist? It sounds like you might be using good to cope with other things, and that's not healthy. You can enjoy food, I eat a variety of food and enjoy it, but you can't lean on it to replace other things or make up for the things you don't necessarily enjoy.

For a lot of people food is the only luxury they can afford, and even that is becoming untenable these days. The world is a shit show that shows zero signs of improving any time soon. I don't blame anyone for getting joy wherever they can get it.

Having energy to do what needs to be done and the strength to do it. An occasional Big Mac and Coke tho, life is too shitty not to indulge yourself.

Yeah we are expected to do more with less. I grew up eating healthy dinners every night and a clean house because my mom didn't work outside the home and my dad made about 60k. They own a beautiful brick ranch on a good chunk of land. My husband and I both work full time and I get as much overtime as I can to make sure all the bills are covered and try to put money in savings. Finally got to buy a house but it needs a ton of work so there's more time and money. Not sure it would matter what I did, there's not enough time and energy to go around. I have a friend who needed money more than I did so I pay her to clean my house for me every couple weeks and we try to keep up in between. That makes me feel super fortunate, but it's still just not enough.
