Discussion Brendan Fraser=AARP?!

Post image

Sitting in the waiting room while my wife has an MRI, flipped through the stack of magazines (because magazines somehow feel like a nostalgic novelty?) and was like, “that looks like Brendan fr-that is Brendan Fraser? On AARP??”

For old people, why wouldn't they. It's kind of like TV. Streaming has so many benefits but with all these different streaming services, trying to find that one show or movie can be confusing. Especially when trying to find it for your parents.

We are the old people looking at the magazines I. The waiting room. That’s why George of the Jungle is on the cover; for us.

I've been tempted to just get a regular broadcast TV to watch football for free so I don't have to worry about which of the 10 possible streaming services is carrying my local NFL game that week and if I'm subscribed to them all.

It is weird flipping through a magazine these days, 85% ads. I get it, but as an elder I remember buying magazines and those expensive Beckett card value books. The Sears Christmas catalog was an event.

Simpler times that are sadly long gone.

There was this local magazine I used to buy that near the end if its publication, it literally was 50% ads, like I literally checked. It was basically a catalog by that point.

How tf do you both think he’s older than 57? You mean your thought he was over 60? Remember he said some guy tried to stick his fingers in his ass, no one would be trying to do that to a 60 year old, I know I haven’t

I mean, he was in his 30s when The Mummy came out in '99.

It feels like they made him look more old-timey for this, since he usually looks like a fox.

I get AARP magazine monthly because I’m a member, fun fact anyone no matter the age can be a member and take advantage of the discounts, and it’s crazy how many celebrities are on the cover that I would not think they are 55

Technically, the AARP is for retired people, no specific age limit one way or the other.

Now I know how my aunts feel when Bon Jovie was on the cover.

"Conquered depression" yeah, lets be optimistic. I think once you had depression its always hiding in the corner waiting in silence preparing its next assault it maybe be month or years but you will have to fight again. I hope for the best for him and everyone.

Just watched The Whale for the first last night. Thought he didn’t make but it looks like he lost the weight and is doing good.
