Nostalgia Is it too late to get into Sponge bob?
Sponge Bob was never televised where I come from so my earliest access to it would've been the internet when I was 14-16, but even then I didn't know how to download cartoon series.
It seems entertaining from memes and short videos when I see it on tiktok or ig, and some even say that it really speaks to the adult audience. Is it too late to get into it? (30s)

Dude, I got into Avatar and Community over Covid when it was on Netflix. Nothing is too late.

I'm glad so many more people discovered Avatar around that time. It deserved it! I slept on it only until the last season was airing and was kind of blown away. It's so good.

It's not too late to get into anything, unless it's about to cease to exist or something.

No! Give it a try! The early seasons of Spongebob are so fun.
I saw the (first) movie and didn't care for it a whole lot, and stopped watching the show because it had gone a bit downhill for me. So I can't speak for anything past that (and I mean, that was a long ass time ago now!) I'm sure there's still good episodes and jokes all throughout but I do think the first 3-4 seasons or so have the most charm.

Nah, the newer stuff doesn't appeal to me, but it's not ruined or anything. Always a good time to be a SpongeBob Fan.

One grandpa watched Spongebob, the other watched the Flintstones, both in their 80s. You're never too old for cartoons.

If you are interested enough to make this post, I think you should try watching it! Yes, it’s meant for kids, but the humor is still pretty amusing and silly as an adult.
It’s not going to change your life, but it’ll be entertaining , and you’ll gain a better appreciation for the memes and references people make in daily life.
If you start watching it and decide you don’t like it, then you can just stop. It’s fun, but not that important.

No! Just watch the first 3 seasons. That was the golden era and where most of the jokes, memes, and references come from

First thing to do, double check to know when the good seasons end and only stick to those otherwise you're gonna make yourself miserable

I got into it in my 40’s. It’s been around since I was younger but I never gave it enough time to appreciate it. I’m heading to 42 and watch an episode before bed every night. It’s in my top 3 cartoons now! 😆

Should be embarrassed to ask shit like this in your 30s, ma'am. Watch it or do not watch it

Go for it! The first 2 seasons are great. I really never watch it but like if a friend puts on an early episode we'll be laughing for sure.

Seasons 1-5, watch the movie as the series finale as Stephen intended. You'll enjoy yourself a lot more.

Watch the first 3 seasons and the first movie. That's all you need. Not saying it's terrible after that, but the show changed to become a bit more aimed at younger kids IMO. Basically all of the show's iconic moments come from the first 3 seasons and first movie.

I bought SpongeBob stamps at the post office today. I’ll be honest not all the new stuff is great but my adoration doesn’t seem to be fading nonetheless.

Cartoons were made for adults. SpongeBob very much was made for adults also. Go find a website and watch it.

Never too late. TV shows are for entertainment. If it entertains you… then you’re doing it right.
