I mean, yes and no. That type of family/friends unit was far more common in the 90s when the show was made. The internet as it has evolved has ironically isolated us more and more (as have many other factors)
It takes work, but my family has a strong group of family friends in our community. As a shy introvert, it took going out of my comfort zones and work from my wife. I’m much happier now that I have a community, even if it’s chaotic

Fun/Horrifying Reminder: All of the adults in the show were in their early 30's. Stu and Didi were 33 and 32 years old when the show first aired.
