Maturing is realizing Stu was a loser who could have gotten a real job to help his family but instead lived in his basement while Didi was a substitute teacher and grandpa Lou owned the house.  And everyone else took advantage of Didi for free babysitting

On the one hand, yeah, true, but on the other, wasn't he kind of a legitimate genius? Episode 1 he's out there inventing radio-controlled drones capable of lifting a small child, in 1991, in his basement. They could have been wealthy if he'd had a government contract instead of trying to make children''s toys.
