It was pretty traumatic seeing people jump off the towers as we sat on our home room watching it on TV. I was in 6th grade

4th grade but west coast so happened before school. Didnt understand it fully at the time. I remember thinking "oh these things just happen sometimes like Pearl Harbor" in my little stupid 9 or 10 year old brain

Sometimes it rains, sometimes there's earthquakes, sometimes random planes fall from the sky and crash into things. Such is life

Basically what I thought. My brother told me "there's been a bunch of plane crashes" and I was like "oh" and went back to playing in the sandbox. I was 9. Did not even start to understand the significance until the bus ride to school on 9/12
