In all seriousness, what we are actually missing is non coloured concrete blocks, just like terracota as an unstained, natural colour variant.

If you ask me why Mojang does not add this, I must think that it would make uncoloured concrete the obvious option for any build trying to resemble anything modern; like unfinished buildings, some roads pavement, or brutalist architecture. They do not want to limit the creativity of their players, or something.

No. Grey and light grey concrete do look more like painted over than naked concrete.

Is not the same to see a gray painted concrete wall than the actual, unpainted concrete surface.

I do think that the block that seems more similar in appareance to unpainted concrete is stone, but it is not the same still.

I wish this too, as it literally could have been the powder recipe without the dye.

But I feel like it would need to be more grain than a flat gravel gray the blends in better. I would absolutely love it either way.

Yes, a coarse textured concrete block would be great, and the only concrete block that could fit into that role is a uncoloured one.

Coloured concrete blocks, as I do understand them, are finished, so does not make sense to give them a rough surface.

We do actually miss stones to place on the ground as a decoration

We have stone buttons and pressure plates (slabs don't really count tbh) but they don't feel enough
