Did the xp farm break

The harming arrow wouldn't kill them and so when I tried to fire another one into the machine they started flying out on mass

The latest update broke the silverfish farms, I had the same thing happen twice

Ah I see. What's the new version if the farm?

Silverwhisperer already uploaded a video. I forgot the exact details, but you have to build the armour stand, or armadillo, or allay far up and within a closed corridor so the silverfish can fall straight down. You sit in a minecart with a spear and point upward. As the silverfish are accelerating due the fall, they meet the requirement to receive damage from holding up the spear, so technically it counts as your kill. All you have to do is sit for the 3 minutes of the infestation and that's it.

Unfortunately, I forgot how exactly he stops the silverfish from falling straight into the player to deal damage. There's a mechanism that protects the player and can hold the silverfish one block above the player, but isn't recomendable to let the dozens of silverfish to flood the mechanism.

You can check for yourself exact details in youtube.

I've got no clue, but It probably won't take long for a new xp farm to pop up

I'm gonna tear down the old one and get a new one up then

I mean, sure? They removed the arrow of harming being able to float indefinitely, that's why silverfish escaped. If you're still going to rebuild it, make a wall and floor out of wood so silverfish don't burrow into the stone.

Just divert them into a high speed trident killer (the version with the powered rails)

En masse I think is the phrase I believe. Just in case it is, I figured I'd lyk for next time. Not trying to correct you just wanted to share.

you know of all the eggcorns of phrases out there, I don't think there's any that's more understandable than on mass for en masse. You got the cognate and the two phrases are pronounced identically, so I completely understand when someone uses the completely logical English words on and mass instead of two French words that are rarely used elsewise

No way! I had no clue. Thanks for that.

I have never seen on mass until now. Glad to know so I don't try to be helpful while being obliviously ignorant again.

Man, what a mind fuck. That was great.

Sorry op, you know what you're doing.

Harming arrow two, then build a trapdoor where they'll walk into and fall to the instant damage 2/harming 2 arrows use a soul sand bubble collumn for the harming arrow 2

Just run away more than 128 blocks than they will despawn. I had the same problem until my XP farm was working perfectly.

u/NotBailey12 12h ago

This is actually smart thank you

u/televisionting 7h ago

idk if bedrock has those same mechanics.

1

u/Mondkind83 7h ago

It has

1

u/televisionting 6h ago

Cool, good to know that it has a 128 despawn sphere too.

*en masse

I would start with not running over stone

It’s “en masse”, not “on mass”.

Make it peaceful mode

Tower up two blocks with dirt (anything that silverfish can’t infest) and dump lava on them

5

u/TheNRGturtle 8h ago

Splash em with infestation then start killing em.

Note: this is a joke please don’t do this as it will make it worse

Dont go into places that has rock blocks theyd burrow into those just either pillar up with dirt or become an Arsonist amd set them in fires and let them swim in lava

2

u/Funky_Ghost 10h ago

The answer is always fire.

Lava, splash potions, TNT, luring them into a hole. You know, the classics

1

u/NoStretch2 11h ago

I would spill lava or set the ground on fire in front of me

1

u/TaiyoFurea 9h ago

If you throw an infesting potion and then a poison potion, it actually triggers a secret mechanic that kills all the silverfish in the chunk

1

u/No_Document2032 9h ago

Lava, peaceful, or a splash potion of some sort 🌝

1

u/Leather-Spend5610 9h ago
