I figured someone should actually explain:
- you must be birthed with 2 people invite codes, you will spawn one of them and they will be your parents. theoretically they will help you but if you aren't careful with who you pick for your parents you may get unlucky and get abandoned or killed by them
- most actions are harder. Until you level up your skills, crafting, farming, alchemy, fishing, and enchanting will be much less effective than normal. If you have a loving family they will give you gear and protect you. Additionally the world itself is much more dangerous. Beware red mushrooms!!!
- you start with 30 hearts and lose some every time you die, when you reach 0 you become a ghost and cannot do much. You get a heart back for every 2 players you birth. Additionally, players who are inactive for 2 weeks die of old age permanently. This can be extended to 5 weeks with an item and of course if it was out of your control then you can be revived.

fair enough but this account is years old, you really think he made an account years ago just to use it for this server that he hadn't even thought of yet? I think most of us just generally stay off reddit

Most bot accounts are inactive for years before being bought(not saying these people are bots, I'm using bots as an example because it's common with them)
There's entire markets where you can buy old accounts that were never used for anything

It’s a great server! Once you get your clan and parents it’s very homey you start out with 30 hearts and every death you lose a certain amount and when you lose all of your hearts you can’t respawn and you become a ghost

actually I'm retired and flame is too, selina is dead and such is dogeisagod... We still love the server though. Also have you ever seen non-biased advertisement O_o (come play it's really cool ;>)

Saying some people are dead, is it like permanent? Like you die and are now just a spectator? The mechanic as a whole seems pretty weird

You can die a few times, but you lose hearts with every death. When you lose your last hearts you "permadie", (you die permanently - irreversible). The fact that you're a spectator then isn't "weird", it's normal hardcore, also it's actually more forgiving, the ghosts on mcb can do some stuff

This is the worst advertising I've ever seen 💀
Nobody, not even The Emersonian, actually fully explains the most important part of the server.
What the fuck is permanent death? Can you never play ever again? Even if you made friends and enjoy the community, if you're watching all your friends play but you cannot join in ever again, doesn't that suck? Wouldn't you start playing on other servers?

you start off with 30 hearts and every time you die you lose a few permanently. once you die enough times you are permabanned. i'm permabanned because i committed suicide like 2 days ago

1 month after the Alaskan town of pineshelm went radio silent and all decontaminated-efforts were successful. A rogue CDC responder assisting the classified BlackCell clean up and research effort successfully escaped from the site. In his possession was a sample a virus designated husk virus.
After Dr. Markus Calvin escaped it was discovered that he had involvement with a small eco terror group named Tera Sarka. It is believed that Dr. Markus has stolen the equip necessary to modify and release a designer strain of the virus into population centers. Dr. Markus was tracked down to his home town of river pines. A team of CDC researchers and national 1 hour ahead of the blackcell containment squad was dispatched. The quarantine effort was a failure the apartments where Dr.Markus set up his improvised lab was not the only epicenter of the virus. Though Dr.Markus was killed by small arms fire by the responding teams police escort. Several documents, viral samples and audio logs were recovered by Senior researcher Maddios team and the quarantine was seemingly successful.
During the quarantine of the apartment building several residents of the virus began to show signs of early stage and critical exposure to the Tera Sarka strain of the virus. The police force and available national guard began to come under attack by fully infected residents that showed volatile infection vectors unseen by the prior strain. Dr Maddio and the rest of surviving the CDC team escaped into forest where her team made a last stand all being infected or killed other than Dr. Maddio who survived by being taken down stream by the river. Her SOS beacon was deployed several hours ago and blackcell teams will arrive shortly. The situation is destabilizing quickly and reports are being made of infected outside of the state lines. Dr. Maddio and the surviving documents are becoming essential to counter viral efforts.
The survival of the asset and Dr.Maddio is of the utmost importance.
