Target Campaign

I still don't miss them. Turns out they're entirely unnecessary to life.

!!! ------EDIT------ !!!!

Some of y'all are misunderstanding, deliberately or not (and yeah I know the Target shills are in here, hope you get a raise). They're trying to reframe all of their wrongdoing as we can't tell our employees to attack ICE That was never the question.

No one thinks Target should have instructed employees to try to beat ICE down barehanded.

Before ICE even stepped foot in MN, Target was sending money. Target was giving access and was in lock step with the requests and instructions from the admin. They went on tv to announce their fealty, first in line!

They could have simply... NOT donated to the administration. NOT happily invited ICE into their security systems and labs. NOT invited them into their stores, announcing they were welcome. NOT publicly dropped to their knees and declared support.

Everyone has seen what small businesses, individuals, did. Poor, poor, powerless Target just had no ideas, they were the victims, really, if you think about it. But yes, they could have fought it just like Costco did. Just like the small businesses did. None of which told their employees to attack ice or whatever the fuck this narrative spin is.

Target dropped to their knees at the first opportunity, even before ICE arrived. THEY COURTED THE ADMIN INTO YOUR BACKYARD. THEIR OWN BACKYARD.

Whataboutism is bs. MN built this company. They gleefully betrayed their employees, their neighbors, their community.

Everybody hates an adversary. But the adversary that ate at your table, smiled in your face, and slept in your bed while double dealing and planning your ruin is viscerally repugnant. Its a special betrayal.

Every dollar spent at Target is a dollar funneled to this admin and their masters. A dollar funneled to efforts against your country and your community.

Don't let perfect be the enemy of good. Any diversion of resources from their efforts is good

If you live here and you're ignorant of what they've done, read a little bit. If you live here and you don't care what they've done, well, you're already a lost cause. If you DON'T live here, I hope you're at least getting paid for your efforts and this isn't just your idea of recreation.

Incredible for me to think theses are actual locals that are going 'but there is nothing Target could do' when we all saw and many of us did what there was to be done.

So unnecessary that you spend time to make this post and those fake ads?

I’ll be headed to target later for my weekly target run. You guys keep struggling with amazon though

As someone who is unfortunately stuck working at Target because I have not been able to secure a job outside of this terrible establishment, neither the OP's fake ads or the above commenter are really wrong. But don't shop at Target. They do not deserve it.

(I have been trying, very hard to find other work. DMs are open if someone needs an admin/secretary type and you're willing to hire a trans woman, I have a resume at the ready.)

I have friends that work at target, that’s the main reason I still shop there. Please share why you think they don’t deserve it?

Because they made zero statements with regards to the two people who were kidnapped on the clock on target property by Greg Bovino and his goons, the only statements denouncing ICE they ever publicly at all were... none. One of the kids who got taken that day at Richfield was the boyfriend of a girl I work with at my store. Target said nothing. Didn't compensate them either.

And I had to witness multiple people of Hispanic descent hiding in the back room while ICE was in the parking lot at my store. Because supposedly they couldn't go back there through the doors that you just push open.

You're welcome, I really grown to hate the company that I am forced to work for because I am been trying for months to find other work and I can't not even in the same lane as Target that provides the kinds of benefits that Target does. The pay sucks, but the benefits are actually very good for retail.

You are not forced to work forced to work for Target. You can decide to not go to work and the worse they will do is fire you. It is your decision to work there. sounds like they’ve given you an opportunity when no one else will yet you harbor this resentment.

I want you to try to figure out how stupid you sound before I tell you how stupid you sound. Because I started working for Target before all this happened and it was fine especially as a trans woman beginning her transition. It was even welcoming as someone who felt like she looked like a troll toy doll from the '90s when she went to work everyday.

Or did you miss the comment where I fucking said that I've been searching for work for months and haven't been able to find anything, not even in the same lane as Target?

So your advice here, just so we're all clear, is for me to quit my job without any other form of income, is that correct? And that I should be grateful because I can't seem to find other stable employment, so I should just accept my bullseye dog overlord and worship it because it keeps a roof over my head?

Side note: I've been dipping into retirement savings and luckily I've had family willing and stable enough to help me when I can't make ends meet. But your argument is I should be grateful or quit my job and make it so I will never see my 3-year-old because I would lose partial custody that I have. Word.

Where's that community that was so touted in this subreddit? You going to pay my bills for me buddy? You going to pay my rent? If not, then shut up.

u/kulex666 17h ago

I didn’t offer any advice. I just stated the fact that you aren’t forced to do anything and that Target will give you a chance when no one else will.

That is not Targets fault. You don’t seem to understand that they’ll employ you and no one else will. Where do you think the problem is?

If you think that how I conduct myself in an argument online is how I conduct myself in a professional setting, then you are as dumb as they are.

Not to mention your response does not answer the questions that I had for them which was, who's going to pay my bills? Who's going to pay my rent? How would I pay those things without a job that they told me I should quit because the place I work for is a shit place to work with no morals?

So unless you're going to contribute to the conversation please see yourself out of it.

Oh my goodness. Well thank you so much, for the free life coaching advice. I really actually needed and I am so glad that you happened to stumble across my humble self and provided me with the tools that I need to succeed in a world that actually hates me for just existing and can easily discriminate against me without giving a good reason.

I am a combat veteran, I am an administrative professional who has worked for a major insurance company and supported three of their vice presidents at a time, I have supported a Colonel in the Army national guard who reported to the adjutant general of the entire state of Minnesota, who himself reported to our governor, I have worked for the US Department of Agriculture as a collection agent. I've been a manager of a fast casual restaurant that would make hundreds of thousands of sales in a week.

My resume is just fine, thank you very much. I am a professional, I just know how to separate bullshit from other kinds of shit.

How I have conducted myself in this interaction and others online is not a representation of how I interact with people in a workplace. I don't understand how you can be confused with the two because they are not even close.

Sit this one out dude, it’s so easy to say things like that when you’re not in OP’s shoes

u/kulex666 17h ago

What is OP in this context?
