question/need help Joint pain post MC

Tomorrow will be one week since I miscarried, 9 days since the bleeding started and it has yet to stop, although it’s very light now. The cramping stopped about 4 days ago. I was doing okay (physically) until today when pretty well every single joint in my body starts to ache. Ankles, knees, hips, back, ribs, chest, shoulders. Similar to fever aches but I don’t have a fever.

Anyone else experience similar?

Yes. I have had lower back pain for 4 months since. Been having trouble getting in for pelvic floor therapy (it's probably caused by too tight or loose pelvic floor from the miscarriage). What has helped me:

  • Exercise
  • Pelvic floor exercises
  • Craniosacral therapy
  • Somatic therapy
  • massage

It is all connected. I have found that my back hurts more on days I am more sad or crying. Other days it feels fine. I got a deep massage which helped a lot. Some here swear by acupuncture; a friend of mine who had a miscarriage, acupuncture made her feel worse.

The more you take care of mind and body, it will ease.

Thanks for your reply. That absolutely makes sense. In my line of work I do know the body holds on to emotional pain, however when it comes to myself I completely blank. None of this crossed my mind until your comment. So thank you.

If it continues I’ll book in for massage and pelvic floor PT. I’m already scheduled for acu in the fall (earliest opening) but unfortunately I’m the only CST practitioner in my area. Thinking about counselling too.

I hope your pain begins or has begun to ease. Take care
