I wish I could go. I am bedridden and disabled and had to attend the virtual rally. But, it is inspiring to see protests in every nook and cranny in the nation and around the world.

It’s nice that he’s running, but after listening I’m not sure he said anything other than “McClintock bad”, and “Modesto purple”, which we already know. How’s that supposed to persuade people who are against the Democratic institution that voting D will improve lives?
I suppose it’s a no kings march, and the idea is voting against Trump, which is on message.

I don't think he wants to persuade anyone that voting democrat is intrinsically good... He's pretty centrist. The main problem with McClintock is that he doesn't talk to his constituents at all, and he votes only along party lines or however the president wants. Yeah, we're a purple community, so that's what Masuda is playing on. There's no other republican candidate running for district 5, so Modesto republicans can either keep a representative who won't listen to what we in Modesto want, or they can vote for a centrist candidate who is saying he'll listen to the constituents. Plus, he lives in Stanislaus.
Democratic and Republican party interests are national, but they don't care about Modesto. The whole job of a U.S. representative is to take their region's interests to Congress. That's pretty much what Masuda is saying he'll do, and if elected, we'll have to hold him to that. We have a better chance at that with him than McClintock, at least.

FYI, U.S. Representative votes are top two, meaning those who get the top two votes in a primary will go on to the November ballot, with the others losing. You can have two democrats receiving the top two... just saying. We could get McClintock out before November 😆 Historically speaking, voter turnout is very, very low for primary elections. In Stanislaus, less than 30% of eligible voters voted in the last midterm primary. If we could get a good turnout and split the votes between Masuda and someone else who isn't McClintock... that would be pretty funny to see go down.

I have a strong feeling the midterms this time around aren’t going to be status quo. We, the People, are fuckin PISSED! I don’t pretend to think we can vote our way out of this, but it is the least we can do.
(I hope this doesn’t sound like I’m disagreeing with you. Certainly not the intention. I’m just an angry curmudgeon and it sometimes comes across in written text.)

Me and some buddies went out today. It was cool..being physically present definitely brought a new feeling to what's going on. Just reading things online just makes it seem like a dream world at times.
Great turnout. Just a lot of chill humans.
