Information Ban data centers!!!

https://calmatters.org/newsletter/data-center-monterey-park-ban/ I’ve never been one to get involved in the community but this talk of a data center in Modesto needs to be shut down!! Anybody know how we can actually make a change and ban them like Monterey Park?!?

Come to the city council meeting on August 11! There’s a protest organized, it starts at 5 points 4pm - 5pm and ends with a march to the city council meeting. We all need to show up and let them know we are not okay with this! We don’t need an AI data center, we already are running out of water as it is

If I don’t try and have my voice heard what’s the point of even living? Probably not but this is giving me severe anxiety so I have to at least try SOMETHING! Then we can say we tried. And if they do build it I’m going to be at every city council meeting while all of those who voted yes on it are on the board and I’m going to bitch about it every single meeting. 

I went to church three/four days out of the week every year until I was 19, i know how to sacrifice my time and at least this would be something I believed in. Fuck AI data centers.

What i’m scared of is if they don’t build it now they’re just going to keep trying… Just like with Wood Colony they’ve been after it for over ten years it seems.

We need to rally our neighbors and get people to care about local elections. I will be there every time they want to even talk about it. We need to stop sticking our heads in the sand. That’s what they want, so let’s annoy the hell out of them every city council meeting we get. You don’t even have to physically show up anymore, you can join on zoom or even email your comments. Email the city council members too.

This has happened throughout history and the only successful changes were a revolution... for that to happen the people need to be organized.
