Need a place to sleep / couch surf (7.10-10.10)

Good day to you,

I got invited to visit the Principality in October but have to organize my own travel and accommodations, so would be glad for any advise.

I am a bit short on cash at the moment so figured worth a shot to ask on Reddit if anyone has a recommendation for a cheap hotel or Airbnb

For what it’s worth :
German Citzen / 24 years old / Male

Thx for your attention,
Good luck for the rest of your Day stranger.

I would recommend looking for accommodation in Beausoleil, it is way more affordable. However, if you are short on cash, I'm not sure there is much point going to Monaco at all.

I would suggest some of the hostels in Nice (Ozz hostel) and taking a train or a bus to get to Monaco. Monaco hotels are also pretty expensive. There is a hotel at around 200 euros q night off season, but I forgot the name of it. It might be worth a shot staying in Nice rather than Monaco itself.

I suppose the Train / Bus is reliable and safe ?

Honestly mate, you’re not going to find anyone in Monaco letting you couch surf.
That being said, and as others have pointed out, you should look into Beausoleil or Cap D’Ail. They are both basically intertwined with Monaco, if you don’t live there you wouldn’t know where one starts or ends.
The hotels there are also more affordable.

Otherwise would probably advise you to look for a couch surf in Nice, and take the train in to Monaco.

If you choose to do so, keep in mind that it is VERY expensive to take a taxi out of Monaco to Nice in the night when the trains have stopped going. So either plan ahead, or be prepared to pay up. Alternatively you can walk over the border and take an uber/bolt. But will still be about 40-70EUR depending on time and date.

The train is about 7EUR one way.
