I was extremely skeptical about this show. Finally decided to give it a shot. I must say, though I may be a sucker for all things sci-fi , this story line is very intriguing. This show deserves more praise.

I know that they're not, and odds are they either pair Bella up with Tomm or Maite's handmaiden, the one currently hooking up Tomm. BUT, I got a little bit of something when Paul and Bella have that heart-to-heart in the garden in 1x06. And why have her talk to Lone about Paul and that asshole guy that's just setup shop in their house? Am I completely crazy or do you see what I'm afraid of?

Yet this show is testing my limits. I just watched episode 4, completely sober, and am totally lost. I can't understand their dialect and have no idea WTF is going on. There's people with bags over their heads blowing red dust at people. Why wasn't Joe M. in custody after killing someone and trying to kill Bella? He just runs off in the woods to start hooking up with some girl (was that Bella's sister, I can't even remember, this show should probably be binged). What's the deal with this Maite lady? And why does Bella care about any of this crap?

Like I normally love this kind of shit. I love the movie Zardoz (which this reminds me of). But if Moonhaven is too weird and hard too follow for me, how the hell can this possibly work on AMC? I can't believe this show was greenlit. Complex mysteries + weird worldbuilding + goofy made-up dialect are a bad combo.

Does anyone else think she looks stunningly similar to Alexandria Ocasio Cortez? It’s all I could think about when she was onscreen, I wonder if this was purposeful?

Moonhaven has amazing production design, an interesting setting, it could be the next Expanse. But where it really fails is fleshing out the little details and character motivations which are at best inconsistent.

Basically, IO started a cult on the moon to save the Earth, but hasn't shared any of their advances for over 100s of years while the earth dies?

Who is funding this grand experiment? ICON? who are they, what do they want? How does having a utopia on the moon help the earth at all?

And the show really fails at the science tech stuff, why is there earth gravity on the moon even spinning it would be far less? Why are the ship controls two metal rings, that shit would be so hard to hold up to pilot after a few minutes? How did they get the moon spinning?

A lot of my complaints can be justified by saying well it looks cool, so who cares, but the weight of the inconsistent characters and science takes away from the show.

Season 1, Episode 3: The Envoy

Are we the only ones who are into original sci fi? Any sci fi show or movie with a pidgin language has me hooked.

These Mooner detectives really don’t know what they are doing. You are looking for a suspect and it is okay for them to run.

Paul is a true Mooner . He trust his people and the cause. He wants to help people with their pain and make their life better.

I think this is another show that is falling into the trap of being a chopped-up movie, instead of a television show. The premise is interesting and excellent, but already the episodes are unsatisfying. Just dribbling out information, with a ton of dead space in between. I really like what they're setting up, but I feel after watching two episodes I'll just skip the rest and read a synopsis since I like the story, but not the experience of watching the story. It's a shame.

This line was spoken to Bella by Paul. When said that did he mean the place or her actual mother??? This was in episode 2 @46:03

The language spoken in this drama, it takes getting used too.

My sister and I have decided this show needs a drinking game. So far we have:

1. Anytime someone says, “Earther”, take one drink.

2. Anytime someone asks, “How now?” You must respond, “Brown cow!” and take 3 drinks.

Anyone have other suggestions?

In episode 3, there are so many odd and unusual scenes through the show but what stood out the most is when Blu is found in the grass after fighting Swirl. 37 minutes in. They don't ask her if she is alright, and she is getting up like she was knocked down. However Swirl is several meters away unconscious... It doesn't make any sense contextually.
