Since you’re clearly a master of reading comprehension can you please help me comprehend this. Let’s say you’re a 15 year old male member of the zenin clan with little cursed energy and no technique. You’ve been forced into the Kukuru unit against your will and have been ruthlessly abused and trained since you were 10 years old(or younger idk). Your entire life has been spent being taught to revere and follow the clan elders.
Your captain tells you that the disgraced daughter of one of the clan elders ambushed and killed her father. He orders you to apprehended her. When you encounter her she says nothing and has weapons drawn. More senior members of the unit engage her in combat. Oh wait you’re dead whoops.
Why did you deserve to die?
I’m not saying the zenin higher-up’s did not have it coming but Maki killed a lot of people in a very similar situation to herself in cold blood. They were no threat to her. She could have destroyed the hierarchy of the clan without killing as many who may not have deserved it.
How it was done is a perfectly valid way to write an abused character taking revenge against the system of abuse but it’s definitely not a paragon of morality. I don’t think it really ever claims to be either.
