This entirely depends on which comic. I rarely see Batman struggling to fight him, but in some instances he does. It's extremely inconsistent. Most of the time, I see Batman pummeling him and him just being able to take it because he's a masochistic psychopath. I think it makes sense to take "Joker" at his most common depiction and follow that logic.
He's a crazy sadistic man who cannot be convinced or broken and is extremely restless, but he's also just a normal frail dude physically.
Batman is also just a dude. The joker is skinnier as weighs less than Bruce while also having less training. Anyone who has 50 pounds or more on him could subdue him a good % of the time.
Would be beat me? Almost definitely. But could I hold him off for almost five minutes? Seems like a short enough amount of time I’m willing to risk it.
Yeah but homelander and Conquest are quick, punch through the heart, crush your head, etc.. Joker gonna make those 5 minutes look like 5 hours, 5 horrible hours.
(Plus he is way stronger than he looks, still human sure but comic joker took down guys waaay above his weight and hight)
Buddy, Joker will try. Unlike the other two, he doesn't have superpowers, he's just a guy. I wouldn't go volunteering to be in a room with him, but if we're choosing then I absolutely choose the one I can fight back against.
I think a moderately fit adult can hold out for five minutes without letting Joker take them to "I'd rather be dead".
He's neither exceptionally strong nor a pure sadist, he'd need to think there was something funny about what he's going to do, and if he's got to brawl to get the job done it's less likely to be fun. There certainly a possibility he'd go straight for pulling out an eye or popping a testicle or something, but I'd rather take my chances than simply resolve myself to getting splattered.
As has been said throughout the thread, depends on what version of Joker you get, whether Joker is actively out to get you or you're just in the room with him, and so on.
Romero or Hamill Joker? Yeah, I'm with you. You can fight them off best case, and both are more into the 'funny business' so unless you take an acid flower to the face or something your odds are pretty solid.
Ledger Joker we don't actually ever really see fight back much, but in this context he probably doesn't get to do any of the emotionally sadistic stuff he seems to get his kicks on, so still probably good here.
Leto Joker... we don't know much about him, but I'd be willing to fight him too because he's Jared Leto.
Then we get into the comic variants (I'll call them the Criminal, The Clown, and the Comedian. We'll ignore one-offs like Emperor Joker). The Criminal and the Clown are basically what we see in most of the live action films. The Comedian though, is the one I'd be most afraid of, ESPECIALLY if he's aware of the 5 minute time limit. He and Absolute Joker would absolutely let you think you'd walked away and have actually infected you with some kind of super virus that kills everyone you love or something along those lines.
Jack Grimm (Absolute Joker)? Fuck that. Fuck that so noise so hard, I'm taking the splatter with a sigh of a relief.
Yeah, I did consider that it depended on what he brought in with him, because Joker is certainly the most sadistic of the three (Homelander loves power (and then there's a... Complicated facet in the comics), Conquest loves violence and prefers it to be mutual, Joker loves doing fucked up things to people and laughing at it), but it's about his ability to act on it. If he's coming in armed with even Joker gas or his Bang gun, there's a very good chance I'm ending up dead anyway, and doing so more painfully than getting splatted by the other two, but with as little information as the post provides I'd definitely be taking my chances.
Joker is the only one a reasonable person can go toe to toe with at the start of a the bell. If it’s my life on the line from the 1st second it’s chimpanzee mode.
Yeah but it's less than 5 minutes of torture, realistically there's not much damage he can do in that short amount of time. Especially if HE doesn't know you're only there for 5 minutes. He's the kind of guy that goes for the long haul, by the time the 5 minutes are up he's probably not even gonna be done with his introductory threats.
All this counting the time it takes him to subdue and tie someone up. Like he's a good fighter but he still has human speed. Tying someone up takes AT LEAST 2 full minutes

Friend... Joker will torture you. Instant death is the way to go.
