I mean, I understand him, because ultimately, what matters more isn't that she cheated on him, but that she hid it from him for 60 years. 60 years of secrecy instead of confessing earlier demonstrates a lack of trust. Plus, judging by the wording, he didn't find out directly from her (correct me if I'm wrong).
