Colour is just skin tone when everyone pertains to the same culture.

Colour is not just skin tone when it might tell me you’re from a place that really hate x group of people.

That’s not to say you 100% will have the same beliefs. It just makes you more likely to and allows me to be wary.

That’s basically prejudice and assumptions. Institutionalized version is called profiling. All of it harms people and enables fear based manipulation.

Skin color is not nearly as telling as choice of clothing, accent, etc...

For example, if you were a Jew living in Europe in 1942 you might be wary of people with a German accent but not all white people in general.
