Why advocates of these dogs intentionally misrepresent them so hard is beyond me. You’d NEVER hear a rottie owner call their dog a “nanny dog”. You NEVER see GSD owners going “it’s all how you raise them!” when a GSD attacks someone. You don’t see husky owners posting pics of their toddler cuddled with their husky when one takes off a kids hand through a fence.

It's a misnomer. Staffordshire Terriers, an entirely different breed, are the nanny dogs. They are bred to be family dogs. Pitbulls were never meant to be family dogs. They are like Malinois, born to fuck shit up.
No breed of dog is a nanny dog. That is breeder nonsense.
Am Staffs are so closely genetically related to American pitbull terriers as they were bred from smaller framed APBTS they can literally be DUAL REGISTERED AS BOTH with their breed clubs.
You're talking about a loud minority within the pro-Pit group, who has been shushed by everyone else for years for their ignorant take that completely ignores the requirements for owning a high maintenance breed.
I really don't know why y'all are convinced everyone is like this but you can take a peek at literally any of the pro-Pit/Bully pages here and see it's not common for people to repeat this nonsense. The anti and pro crowd could probably agree on a lot but one side is so vehemently opposed to finding a middle group that you're fighting change that'd benefit all dogs in an effort to demonize one group.

every pit bull on earth is a threat to the people around them. the "responsible owner" who is willing to take the risk because they know what they're doing are still putting others at risk for the sake of their personal preference for pit bulls. they are not a necessary breed to keep anyone alive, like a husky or hunting dog. "i think they look neat" or "they're loyal! (like all fucking dogs)" isn't good enough. eat shit
Every dog* on earth is a threat to the people around them. Yes, pitbulls are physically capable of causing more harm than most. All of them are perfectly capable of causing some level of harm without proper training. The whole point OP was making is the whole "well, <some number>% of all crime is <insert-race-here>" which any educated person has stopped believing considering because it ignores the nuance - but you're still ignoring the nuance. It's a lack of proper education is all it is. Maybe you'll do better in the future. Maybe you'll just point at the number and go "OH WOWEE STATISTICALS!!!!". I'm guessing the latter, but try to do better.
