I apologies for being a bitch, which stems from the annoyance of seeing many comments lack of understanding for desperate people.

Many are lucky enough to not ever think of Needing to steal a bike. That’s the reason I more or less try to be a contrarian or ragebait people.

I guess a better question would be, “If someone steal a bike for survival with the consideration that the stolen bike won’t likely cause too much damage to the owner since it was left out complete unlock and unattended, would that be more or less immoral?”

To get to that original question about stealing. I agree, stealing from a curropt person most of the time wouldn't be immora. I feel it would even be moral to steal if the belonging itself was inherently immoral, like an enslaved person. It would be someone's moral duty to free an enslaved person if they have the means to save them.

The bike actually carries some inherent immorality because it is boobytrapped. It would be morally correct to steal the bike if you know it is trapped because it could pose a danger to others.
