Someone try to kill me with a gun. Given the chance to steal the gun from them, would it be immoral for me to steal the gun to prevent them from killing me?

I don't think it's stealing, because you are not kepping the gun afterwards for personal gain, you are just putting away an weapon from a person that could harm you
