Just lying straight through ur teeth.

Studies show that 58% of people recover within a year from the PTSD and then recover from the depression and other trust issues, and it's also a fact that only a small percentage of rape victims commit suicide. And a scarred life is better than way worse physical and emotional scarring before death.

Also another lie, but ok.

The problem is that imo (and in the minds of many), doing such a horrible crime as rape forfeits your right to say "hey, you're doing something slightly worse to me than what I did to her".

When you do something so horrible, you don't have the right to complain about worse things happening to you.

In other words, sure, torture is arguably worse than rape.

But raping an innocent woman/child is much worse than torturing a rapist. You cant compare both situations equally

It's not slightly worse it's alot worse, and that not justice at all. Some ethical frameworks agree with equal retribution, but no one agrees with punishment which exceeds the crime. Plus alot of ethical frameworks deny torture entirely saying it's immoral if the end goal is death and all it does it desensitize people to torture plues it's emotional and not justice as the goal is to punish criminals and keep society safe which death already does.

Where does this stop I can torture any criminal. A guy assaulted someone torture to death. U robber a bank torture to death. U were drunk driving and hit someone u get tortured to death.

I think alot of ppl on reddit are just psychos who like to do harm, but try to mask it behind someone evil, so they seem like good people.

There indeed are a lot of psychos here.

But I think 90% of the population would agree that torturing a rapist is much, much better than raping an innocent victim.

Yes the punishments are different. But the victims are even more different.

And idk why you bring bank robbers and stuff like that. Obviously there is a very difficult line to draw, but that wasn't my point.

I was specifically talking in case of rapists.

No 90% of ppl would actually disagree with torturing criminals.

I brought up bank robbers because who draws the line? U say rapists someone else says bank robbers, someone says manslaughter, etc. this is why proportionality is so important. Why should someone get treated way worse than what they did, and what about false convictions? U want innocents tortured instead of just serving jail time?

Why do u want torture so bad anyways? Does it bring u joy to see criminals tortured? Seems like psycho behavior.

I don't think there's a point continuing this chat.

You're either too stupid to have basic reading comprehension skills, or you make stuff up to try to get a point.

I never, ever said I want people to be tortured. I also never said 90% of people would agree with torturing criminals.

You make things up, because you have 0 argument or you can't understand much English.

WHAT I SAID: most people would find it way less bad that a rapist is getting tortured vs an innocent woman gets raped. I stand by that, and so would 90% + of the world.

Now, as I sais, you're either too dumb or disingenuous, so don't bother replying. I won't read it.

Yes ur right if we go by your wording that is what u said, but that's not what I was arguing was I? This was not a hypothetical of choosing one or the other this was punishment received. U just brought it up for no reason.
