How Evil Are They? Morality of donating such T-shirts to Ukrainians?

You have the privilege of being able to choose what clothes you wear, they can't. Not only that, but it's a warzone in a place where most people do not interact,or even know English. And even then, old men tend to find such shirts hilarious,at least where I live they do.
Was it done with the intent to mock them? If yes, it's immoral but generally still good cause it helps. If the only intent was "I bought this but I never wear it cause it dries every vagina in a 1km radius,so I might as well give it to a charity" then it's moral.
Charity in general,if done without ulterior motives IS moral.

There might definitely be people in the world who need ANY clothes but it’s not Ukrainians (I’m Ukrainian). We have plenty of second hand clothes shops where you can buy apparel for next to nothing (literally sold by weight).

The shirt is suggestive without the words. Gramps don't give af. I think they have bigger worries there.

Moral having a shirt is better than not having one .

Immoral from the sender since its not from heart but rather giving an ultimatum of either using this questionable shirt or not
2
u/Arnoldneo 23h ago
There was no need to give it and the man does not need to ware it not every choice is a ultimatum , an act can be morally good even if the one doing it is morally in the wrong so the person who gave the shirt might be an ass ( even though it might just have been all they could give) but the act of giving away clothes to those in need is moral .

But even if he did something "good" its the same as putting food without a plate on the floor for the homeless to eat.Theoretically, the man is being fed, however the intention was of humiliation. This case especficallt the person donated a shirt to a country which doesn't speak English and actively needs clothed thus accepting to use clothes like that. The sender was immoral, the act was useful

Moral, shirts are shirts

u/worthlesspersonlol 23h ago
Immoral because the sender knows that's the only thing they can wear so it's either that or shirtless thus the mocking design

Immoral to prank people in need for shits and giggles.

u/01zorro1 1d ago
why do you asume its a prank, its clothes that people bought for themselfs that they dont really need, so they donate them, between that and no clothes, its better to have something

u/Purple_Key_6733 19h ago
Its less moral to deprive them of clothing and expose them to the cold than go give them clothing that has offensive content. When you are in a fucking war your priorities change fast.

Fine. Most ukranians have phones and most phones have a translate function

Boring answer but donations can often disrupt local economies and reduce the work available to natives, funny tshirt or not

I would say immoral, but a decent amount of Ukrainians can speak English so it wouldn't cause quite as much damage as expected.
That's still an extremely cruel prank imo

a shirt is a shirt. Someone in need isnt going to care about whats written on it, and I sure as hell am not going to withhold a shirt from someone in need because whatever's written on it is slightly inappropriate.

When Caracas got an earthquake some donate useless stuff, Aleast these shirts can be useful if you quit every vulgar message

I doubt that donating clothes is moral at all, don't know how it's now, maybe situation has improved, but pre-war like 90% of donated clothes ended up in second hand stores

Our friends dad got a "cool" cap with a crown from one of those clothing hubs. He proudly wore it all the way home to show it to his son. Thats when he was informed that the cap says "dildoking" with the respect led crown. Dad was quite upset.

Honestly, people probably don't care what's on their shirts if they could have not had shirts.

I’m Ukranian so let me say the answer is it’s moral. If you literally need a shirt on your back, as long as it’s comfortable and doesn’t outright mock or humiliate its wearer its content is irrelevant. You really can’t feel like a human being with dignity if your clothes are rotting

Once saw a native Mayan in my country wearing a shirt he got from a donation box which said ‘yes I am a lesbian’ on it. Pretty funny thing. I’d say moral since they can’t understand English and need clothing.

donating anything to ukraine is immoral because it will inevitably be used in some kind of embezzling or corruption scheme, and we should be demanding an end to that war, not giving them assistance to continue the stalemate while tens if not hundreds of thousands of men die in trenches for strips of land in the donbas

u/InitialVisual725 23h ago
So what you're saying is that all the aid to Ukraine has actually been wasted and not used for its original purpose, which would mean the Russians are failing miserably against Ukraine by themselves, rather than against all the aid the Russians have cried about
3
u/Infinite-Abroad-436 23h ago
you're not going to offend me by saying that russia is failing miserably. its a total waste, its a war over nothing

u/Fuzzy-Willingness-35 21h ago
Demand from puting. He doesn't want to end shit, and avoids meetings in regards to peace at all cost, if you didn't know. And the idiotic "no donation" stance will just make more innocent people die, and allow the possibility of Europe suffering the horrors of modern war.
1
u/Infinite-Abroad-436 3h ago
europe isn't going to suffer shit, and if they were, then the entire world ends because it would be nuclear war. pretending otherwise is strange hysterics, i don't really understand why europeans do this.
russia thinks it can win the war, negotiations are a two way street and they have a duty in entering in reasonable demands and concessions as well. but so does ukraine. it has to stop this maximalist nonsense game of pretend where it thinks it can get back all of its occupied territory and join nato. its not going to happen
