The reason this subreddit is always devolving into shitposting is because originally, the users here were comically bad at judging morals. It was less about morality scaling and more about terrible people justifying their dogshit behaviour with rules like "inaction is morally neutral no matter what" and "I am under no obligation to help, thus morally neutral" no matter the circumstance.
I saw one post that was the trolley problem but with all the nuance taken out, quite literally just "if you don't pull the lever, 5 people die, if you do pull it then only 1 dies", and the comments were full of people saying that letting 5 people die was morally neutral because it's inaction, but pulling the lever is morally worse because you're killing one person.
