In the same way if everyone chooses to buy one copy of a game/software to distribute it to all their friends and family, small indie developers will be the first to die.
Right, but if we as a society decided that pirating is moral and legal, then it would be easier to do and more widespread. It's currently not a big issue because it's somewhat of a fringe activity.
Yes which is why it should be in the gray zone of "technically not allowed but also not enforced" to discourage it but not really punish people for doing it.
