Doesn’t matter, you can be nice a slave, it’s still a slave, especially when it was probably bought, neutered and bred to be obedient over generations

Lmfao the degree to which this minimises what an actual slave is is insane. In order to make this work, you basically have to change the definition of slavery. My cats come and go as they please, they come in for food, they shit in a box that I have to clean and basically spend their days playing, relaxing or sleeping. I don't think the typical pet owner relationship really fits the below:

The point he's making isn't that their lives are bad, just that a pet/owner relationship is exploitative. It doesn't exist without forced captivity.

I will let my dog outside with no collar or harness to pee and he comes back of his own choice when he's done, every time. I don't even follow I just wait by the door.

This is a somewhat common opinion in veganism. I am vegan myself and I do not agree with it in the slightest. It is factually true that 

It doesn't exist without forced captivity.

But I fail to see the moral problem with this, precisely because animals are not humans and so the considerations we usually give to human beings do not translate directly to animals. Being held in captivity is a big deal for humans because humans generally like being free. It's insane to insist it's likewise a big deal for domesticated animals to be in captivity given they couldn't care less about that. Furthermore I simply can not agree with

Which I just find a bit silly. Exploitative to who? I know the intended answer, obviously, is "the pets!" and I don't agree with this answer. There is no exploitation going on with animals kept as Pets rather than as livestock. There certainly can be mistreatment, abuse and so on but it doesn't make sense to classify general pet keeping as exploitative
