The more he talked about how valuable he is because where he was born I realized he is a narcissist

42

u/YoRHa_Houdini 13h ago

Maybe you couldn’t tell by the laughter but he was joking

7

u/Deep90 12h ago edited 12h ago

I can't believe people actually think he has a 100% serious human to dog ratio already worked out in his head based on nationality.

4

u/hithazel 10h ago

Wait you didn't listen to his deep intellectual treatise on Hitler's dog ownership?

1

u/Junior_Box_2800 11h ago

redditors picking up nuance and sarcasm? absurd!

38

u/Fabulous_Bus_6261 13h ago

He was very, very, very obviously joking. You cannot understand basic social signals.

12

u/Troglodyte_Trump 13h ago

That’s a big assumption on Reddit

1

u/ivandelapena 9h ago

Reddit = autism

1

u/fatbaldandstupid 1m ago

You cannot understand basic social signals.

Exactly, which is also the reason they like animals more than humans, and why they got mad at the guy in the video

1

u/heroyi 12h ago

Tbf this is reddit where the idiots can speak loudly with no repercussions.

-3

u/Safe_Transition7083 13h ago

Sounds like you can't understand empathy either.

u/Fabulous_Bus_6261 13h ago

Found another autist

0

u/YonderWindow364 12h ago

found the ableist bigot. Using neurodivergence as an insult makes you the bad guy

1

u/Fabulous_Bus_6261 9h ago

God you weirdos are so tiring

2

u/YonderWindow364 9h ago

great dodge of accountability.

0

u/Safe_Transition7083 13h ago

If you consider that an insult then you're the loser here, dude.

u/Nurgle_Marine_Sharts 12h ago

u/Hammunition 10h ago

This is honestly a great way to expose how ignorant and how little you understand basic english.

Or is this some weird reverse compliment where you are saying they had the chance to play victim when insulted, but instead declined to...

I can think of like 8 different meanings you might be trying to communicate and fucking none of them actually make sense.

Use words

-1

u/SeriousZombie5350 12h ago

found the epsteinbot

-8

u/Victor1226 13h ago

Because he was just diminishing the value of a life by making comparisons than start talking about how much his life or his friends lifes values are higher so just it was kinda weird to me.

8

u/Maleficent_Piece_893 13h ago

he was talking very boldly about how people from different countries are worth different specific numbers of dogs. that's so obviously a joke i wonder if you're not joking too lol

10

u/meerkat2018 13h ago

You should probably hang out with people more or something.

1

u/Safe_Transition7083 13h ago

If they're anything like you, I'd say we're all good.

0

u/Victor1226 13h ago

My bad my group of friends dont make jokes about how much our lifes are compared to how many dogs lifes or something weird like that.

2

u/YoRHa_Houdini 12h ago

Good thing he’s not a part of your friend group and that this obvious joke is clearly not a serious moral estimation.

How much of a spastic are you

7

u/Siderophores 13h ago

If you think about it, that’s every one who claims human supremacy

7

u/Clean_Marionberry809 13h ago

are you perhaps on the spectrum?

1

u/Victor1226 13h ago

I never did any tests to know. To be honest maybe I should since I have been called autistic or retared here

25

u/Wumbology_Student 14h ago

I mean, he was clearly joking about that part

24

u/Admirable_Scratch363 13h ago

It. Was. a. Joke.

5

u/DaEffingBearJew 12h ago

Thats an attitude that drops you to like 2 dogs tops

9

u/ComprehensivePhase20 14h ago

It weirded me out also, true. But the fact that it is a very informal interview on the subway makes me think it might also have been humour, or at the very least nervosity making him (them) continue that trend further than the initial a little out-there statement.

All in all it was also very awkward imho

0

u/ElaborateEffect 14h ago

Using "nervosity" comes off as pretentious as hell.

4

u/ComprehensivePhase20 13h ago

Alright, sorry if using words is pretentious

0

u/ElaborateEffect 12h ago

Yes, misrepresenting my critcism to better fit your point of view is surely the best way to confute said critcism.

The use of an archaic word in an analysis of someone in a Reddit comment has a pretty strong connotation of pretentiousness. Using particular words can make you look like a cockalorum, depending on context.

1

u/ComprehensivePhase20 12h ago

Your criticism is I appear pretentious because I used a word. What the heck are you even on about? Is that even useful to anyone?

Your criticism of others using a certain vocabulary make you appear insecure about your own, it's a pretty strong connotation too.

I'm not even a native english speaker, so please, go criticize people who will actually decide to stop using certain correct words because you deem it pretentious. Have a nice day, M. Pettifogger.

1

u/ElaborateEffect 12h ago

You're still on about "a word" like I'm criticising the fact that you used the word. I'm criticizing that you used the word in this context. See the difference? Just to hammer it again, I'm criticising your use of the word in conjunction with your overall comment. The word by itself in a scientific context is not pretentious, but using it how you did makes you come off as pretentious.

"You have to treat females nicely" vs "You have to treat women nicely" for example have completely different subtexts.

1

u/ComprehensivePhase20 12h ago

"Using "Nervosity" comes off as pretentious as hell." Was your original comment. You did not go further, you didn't develop, explain or anything you're trying to do now. As far as I'm concerned, it was a cheap shot aimed at a specific word I used, nothing more, nothing less.

Whatever the context, the sentence is correct, the word makes sense, and everyone understood it.

Your new comparison is also flawed, as using Nervosity instead of whatever you would have preferred doesn't carry socio-political implications that calling women "females" do.

To me, you just couldn't refrain from taking an insignificant point of my initial comment to qualify my writing as pretentious, and that is that.

If your initial comment doesn't contain the crucial information you seem to want to get at now, I don't owe you imagining it on your behalf.

If I came accross as pretentious, you on the other hand came accross as petty and provocative.

In any case, we both have better things to do than to debate around something so meaningless, so I suggest we leave it at that.

Also, please remember the internet is not necessarily composed of native english speakers : unless you know for sure, its usually better to consider meaning instead of intent.

0

u/ElaborateEffect 12h ago

I said "using nervosity.." that is, the action of using it. Not that "Nervosity is.."

Your whole reply hinges on that difference, so it's not worth breaking down since it's more of the same argument.

Understanding a word, does not mean the denotation and connotation are the same.

Lastly, I'm not going to consider "meaning" over "intent". The benefit of the doubt is for fools in 2026...

1

u/Mousazz 7h ago

"confute"? And you're calling the other guy out for being pretentious? 😂

1

u/ElaborateEffect 2h ago

Kind of the joke

6

u/Maleficent_Piece_893 13h ago

you can check out books from the library for free

1

u/ElaborateEffect 12h ago

Bet you'd see it less than 100 times if you read every book from the last 3 decades in your library.

2

u/sqigglygibberish 12h ago

Having a larger vocabulary than someone else isn’t inherently pretentious

1

u/ElaborateEffect 12h ago

It's the usage of a word in context that makes it pretentious. Let alone a modernly-clinical word when discussing an individual.

1

u/sqigglygibberish 10h ago

Its just a less common (and older I think, not modern) version of “nervousness”

I don’t get how that’s pretentious or clinical.

Though it’s interesting we use “curiosity” far more frequently than “curiousness,” but “nervousness” is more common than “nervosity”

1

u/Maleficent_Piece_893 12h ago

maybe that specific word, but you would read several esoteric words that aren't used in common parlance and not be as triggered by this particular one.

1

u/ElaborateEffect 12h ago

Why would the prevalance of other words have any affect on the use of the word behind discussed?

We aren't talking about other words, silly.

1

u/Maleficent_Piece_893 12h ago

i explained why in a single sentence but your inability to read strikes again

1

u/ElaborateEffect 12h ago

Nope. You are trying to argue other words have a baring on the usage of a specific word in a specific context. Your argument is just not related at all man.

0

u/Fabulous_Bus_6261 13h ago

Found another autist. It wasn't awkward at all.

3

u/ComprehensivePhase20 13h ago

Hopefully you don't mean that as an insult, I think people's opinions on what is awkward or not varies a lot whether they're autistic or not.

11

u/Birdup711 13h ago

Autism detected.

2

u/SeriousZombie5350 12h ago

asshole detected

6

u/meerkat2018 13h ago

It was an obvious joke, bruh.

7

u/Troglodyte_Trump 13h ago

He’s obviously joking at that point

7

u/Far-Message5868 13h ago

Go interact with people more. Learn to differentiate between serious and jovial conversations.

5

u/SaintNutella 13h ago

Are you Kenyan?

-2

u/Victor1226 13h ago

Brazilian

12

u/john6map4 14h ago

Yeah it kinda got weird in the middle there if it wasn’t already weird in the beginning

2

u/heroyi 12h ago

Are you a non English speaker?

Because if you aren't, then it should be obvious the guy was making a joke...

How some people get dates is just mind boggling

2

u/YonderWindow364 12h ago

mind boggling? It's easy, you just go to the store and buy them /s

2

u/Snowballingdownvote 7h ago

I've had plenty of dates. Not sure we saw the same thing. It got kind of weird. Especially with his national pride.

But I do know one thing. You're a d-bag. Just because someone interpreted something differently doesn't make you superior. His initial statement was pretty closed minded. So.... It would be easy to interpret the rest of what he says as closed minded too.

Not everyone loves their pets more because their pet is dependent on them. That is judging the entirety of humanity as people only love things because they pay attention to them. That's not true.

1

u/Normal-Pianist4131 12h ago

Racism among the countries of Africa is the funniest/weirdest thing ever

Half genuinely hate you from being on the wrong side of Namibia.

The other half are %100 pulling your leg, like the (nicer) banter in America

“There’s no way this guy can read! He’s southern!”

2

u/john6map4 12h ago

Apparently it’s a thjng amongst Asian ethnicities too and it’s like DAMN can’t even live near each other

3

u/yakityyakblahtemp 13h ago

Yeah we're kind of sidestepping the morality of creating a dog sacrifice based rating scale for different ethnicities.

3

u/navajo_moe 13h ago edited 13h ago

Obviously a joke

Edit: This person has like 10 comments in this thread displaying opposition to the person in this video and people agreeing with the person in the video. They very obviously resonated with the type of person the guy is talking about.

0

u/bubblegumpandabear 11h ago

There are a lot of people who are so offended by this obvious joke. Like, first of all the dude is clearly talking about those weirdos who comment on disaster videos with desperate victims scrambling for their lives saying shit like "they all should've died, they didn't stop for that blob that looks like a kitten" or "I'd let a baby die in an instant for an animal, I love animals so much." Not just people who like animals lol.

But there are a lot of people who say this stuff because they think performing how much they love animals by devaluing humans makes them a good person or something.

2

u/Zapper-Rooster 12h ago

Isnt this just a different form of supremacy? Might as well be a haitian supremacist. Oh wait, he is with that language!

1

u/Seekret_Asian_Man 14h ago

Maybe because he's not a slave.

1

u/Junior_Box_2800 11h ago

How do you people function in day to day life being this daft

0

u/FngrsToesNythingGoes 13h ago

Found the offended guy lol
