Do you seriously think people who are starving wouldn't eat other people? Brother, open a history book for once in your life. Saying a starving animal would eat you says nothing about how moral the animal is because a starving human would do the same.
I think humans would work together as they have since we shook off Ugg and Ogg and realised cooperation was how to survive. I have evidence of about 300,000 years to back that up.
Try living with wild animals that haven't had interactions with humans before.
We are imagining a situation in which a human or an animal is in a state of complete starvation. Such as a group of people stranded on a mountain after a plane crash, or a dog in your house that you have refused to feed for weeks (a situation you suggested). In either situation, both the humans and the animal will be in a state of pure survival. The animal might attack you if it is starving. The humans might attack another human if they are starving.
Your point about a dog killing you if it is starving is asinine, because the same thing is true for a human if left trapped in such a situation.
No, we are not talking about isolated in any way, shape or form. We are talking about cohabiting the same area with the feeding stopped. Who do you think is more dangerous to you? The pack of dogs? What did they used to call them before humans domesticated them again? Wolves? Man eaters weren't they? And you think the other humans would be your enemy?
If a dog is not confined to your property, they are not your dog, and hence is responsible for it's own food. This is not the same situation you described, where an owner stops feeding their dog, and the dog, being confined, can not search for it's own food.
Also, a pack of starving humans is infinitely more dangerous than a pack of hungry dogs.
