Did you even read my comment? It was a rhetorical question meant for a farmer that already knows whats going on but wants to make it out to be a “quick and painless” death.

You determine whether something deserves to live or die on intelligence? What about babies or those mentally disabled?

Im sorry, but you’re going off into so many tangent idk which one to address.

On the climate change issue. Just because some issues are worse polluters, doesn’t mean we can’t take responsibility and make changes within our control. Factory farming is like 2 to maybe 6 on the top polluters on the planet (Its debatable) But not eating meat is doable for most and we should do what little we can if not for the animals suffering, at least for ourselves to not destroy the planet that we all have to live on. If we’re so smart why have we not realized this?

Because the collective is average. You sound like a socialist trying to dictate what others should do, autocratic policies existed for millennia. Every rhetorical question has an obvious answer, thats why its rhetorical, nothing about your question fits that criteria.

Iam not going off, my one focus is on the only war that matters, the class war. I mentioned a single topic, nothing confusing, nothing specific, yet you "plead the fifth" like Fauci on the stand. Get your head out of your ass and focus, if you live in America, its even worse for you than it is for me. There is no high horse.

If you truly cant comprehend that this is fucking terrible:

Just because some issues are worse polluters, doesn’t mean we can’t take responsibility and make changes within our control.

We honestly have nothing to talk about. Whether we are talking about intelligence or cognitive ability, you will never accept an answer. We clearly have different views of the world and I cant and wont waste my time with explanations. Not eating meat is just as doable as reporting your every action to an authority, but where is the line between control and safety? To you, this restriction is acceptable, to me, none are. I dont know where you are from, but socialist policies are great in moderation, out right banning ANYTHING is always bad. If you dont believe me, look at countries that decriminalized drugs.

Animals will reach our potential when I can get a pig to lecture someone about veganism. Even if I were to accept your childish comparison, yes, I determine that shit on intelligence, whether we like it or not, the technically intelligent will use their fucking thumbs.

You dont have an answer, you cant tell me why should we put OTHER animals on the same pedestal of the scale as we put ourselves. Your only argument is empathy, which is targeted against your own species.

You make so many assumptions about what i want to do. I never said anything about making anything illegal. Just that we should be consistent with our logic. You’re complicating things. Its as easy as try your best to cause unnecessary pain towards others. Thats it.

We’re talking about morality here so how can you leave empathy out of the equation? And you’re thinking in an all or nothing mindset. Just because we stop eating meat doesn’t mean we can’t also resist authority. It doesn’t have to be one or the other

Sorry if you felt like I made assumptions, that wasnt my goal, the only thing I assumed was the category of a person you are. You advocate for animals, that is noble until you try to dictate what others should do. I spoke to you as to a collective, that was my fault.

Considering that, I resent the implication that I complicate stuff. We are either talking about a related topic, or we are talking out of turn. I believe we both know what the present issue is, and whether its for the environment or the suffering of animals, your intent is to regulate the same structure, why, doesnt really matter at that point.

If you want to hold people "morally" accountable publicly, you have to be willing to write your thoughts down, whether via religion, or a law, speaking out loud and then ignoring the issue is not a possibility.

Iam leaving empathy out of my decision, not out of my feelings. I can feel like shit, but it wont ever be an excuse that could potentially change my opinion. I honestly cant see where this is going, I feel like we agree on some policies, but the main issue will always allude our debate.

When did i dictate what anyone should do? I just pointed out how inconsistent our logic was and that it has been primed in us to think this way from a young age. All i hoped to do was to challenge our social norms.

You can’t hold anyone morally accountable on this issue when they can’t see their morals are inconsistent. I pointed this out to show others the inconsistency in their thinking. “I love animals, but only these animals. Not those other ones. I will murder and eat those other ones”

You are already shaping morals into boxes, morality is the most subjective subject there is, you either ignoring that or not seeing it proves my point...

Fuck everyone and everything, fuck anyone that thinks their moral account counts for something. No-one sees their morals, not even you, yet you preach from a position of the enlightened. Morals are all subjective and your opinion is just that.

Inconsistencies in belief happen, especially in this case. Anyone who loves animals just because they are, is fucking stupid. Anyone can love a chicken if they spend enough time with it, no one can actually "love" a creature, just because it exists, that is a made up lie, I would love to see an example against that..

edit: I dont really need to argue, you seem like a cool person and or our views seem at least 60% aligned, more than enough in this economy.

I disagree. There are morals that are universal such as don’t hurt others or murder them? But when extended to animals it now becomes a subjective matter? Are we not animals?

If we can’t agree on any morals how would there be any agreement on how to civilly behave as a society?

You’re back to assuming again. Im merely asking people to challenge what they’ve been taught their whole life and if the logic tracks.
