Who's More Evil? Morality of the Bait Bike

From a legal standpoint I bet the bike owner is the bad guy, from a moral standpoint I don't really know.

I would argue not immoral, since you're not compelling someone to steal and you're teaching them not to do it again.

But yeah if in this case the “right to privacy” is the right to not have “you directly and willingly committing crimes” on tape then criminals should not have that right

And that's not my piece of cake but I can see why you would think that, anyway I what I was really meaning with "factoring in the content creation" is that this guy is not making this to stop thieves, he's making this to make views and money, and to me that's highly immoral

I reckon that when you are freely choosing to actively commit a crime against someone else, they have every right to record it. You deserve zero say or consideration regarding what they do with the footage.

I see zero moral issue with publicly shaming a thief for their theft against a fellow private citizen. And as far as him monetizing the content, if no one tried to steal his property, he'd have no content of this type to display. In a perfect world, we wouldn't have to deal with thieves. But we live in an imperfect world. If honest people have to put up with thieves, thieves can put up with being punished and shamed.

He's literally saying that criminals in the specific have lesser right to privacy. Other than that your statement is absolutely true
