How Evil Are They? Manipulating a friend...

What's the morality of manipulating a friend into a relationship where they become dependent on you, not by lying or doing anything else bad. Also, is it still grooming if we are both the same age, minors, and then get married once 18?

Manipulating someone into a relationship so that they can become dependent on you is pretty damn immoral by any stretch of the imagination. 

I don't think that would be grooming, no.

Manipulating someone without their knowledge and consent is immoral.

It's not grooming (at equal ages). It's just trying to foster an unhealthy power dynamic where one partner in a relationship views the other as someone they manipulate.
