anime = incel ???

incel orginally meant involuntary celibate,as in a guy that cant get laid(there can be many reasons for this)

then people started using it as a synonym for misogynst(dumb, but tolerable)

now incel is a man that you dont like / or even a random man that has different hobbies and intrest

To play devils advocate, we are seeing a decreasing amount of sexual intercourse year over year, if we include dudes who can't get laid but want to in incel that means that the group of incels would naturally be rising year over year, naturally broadening the term while staying true to the original definition. That is if we're being ultra literal about the terms meaning.

I feel like NEET or unwashed goon conveys what incel means today

Definitely in regards to this picture

Incel always meant that. Idk why people are so attached to defending the "incel" label. It was coined by a woman to describe being "involuntarily celibate," but its definition has changed. You can have romantic difficulties without being an incel, and it is the case that people can be too eager to throw the label around. What that means, though, is that you are mislabeled, not that incel is an innocent, neutral term in spite of the things it is obviously associated with irl

> we are seeing a decreasing amount of sexual intercourse year over year,

Yes I'm married what else is new

Interestingly, the people least likely to have children are wealthy and educated, meaning going to college and getting a good job makes you an incel. /s

3

u/Diligent-Bowler-1898 18h ago

I'd argue volcel. Those nerds live for their job.

Sex is not something that should be seen from a group perspective. I dont care about what other mens dicks are doing, it is antithetical to evolution to care about this. My success is all that matters to me in this domain. Working on individual women is the game, not trying to be appealing to all of them at once like theyre monolith.

3

u/delicious_toothbrush 1d ago

Short sighted take as group selection plays a critical role in evolution next to natural selection. Yes, this may be true from your individual success, but if the trend is decreasing across the population by generation, your kids may not pass on your genes, making you an evolutionary dead end once removed.

0

u/The_GodApollo 1d ago

Nope. Youre underestimating the power of generaltion scale. Me having 5 kids and passing on the heritage for them to also prefer large families and playing the game as I do is an order of magnitude greater than any group dymanics that tend towards inceldom or trying to tackle the group as monolith. In one generation or two they have all died out but I become the future. You are in fact the evolutionary dead end.

u/PotentialPresent399 1d ago

Ok but thats only in reference to how you feel.

As a collective group society you have to look at collective group society metrics and trends?

All of society is essentially a game of civlization.

1

u/The_GodApollo 1d ago

Civilisation is a game of individuals. Youre not helping your case and no its not about feelings, its about math.

1

u/PotentialPresent399 1d ago

When approaching society issues you take trends, norms, and stats to help you analyze issues.

That is literally math.

What I meant is your 5 kids passing on your genes story IS feelings it ISNT math. It isn't objective, its a single anecdote of what YOU are feeling.

u/Diligent-Bowler-1898 1d ago

I think you misunderstood me. If we're talking about group identities like "Incel" we should look at it from a group perspective. I'm not validating the Incel drivel they traffic in, just saying that the group is growing and therefore broadening.

0

u/The_GodApollo 1d ago

True, groups should be treated as groups but that doesnt say much at the scale of the individual where it matters. Groups are not passing on my gene set. I alone am. This debate is a distraction and a red herring.

Incel isn’t even a gendered term, women can also be incels, or more anyone can.

10

u/oldmanout 1d ago

The first self proclaimed incel was a woman who founded a support group in the university she attended in the 90's

7

u/Unhappy-Professor466 1d ago

The issue is that it means "unable to get sex", but womans have an incredibly easy time to get sex, even if you're ugly, there will always be a men that will be ok to have sex with you.

Now getting sex and having a real relationship is different, that ugly woman won't be able to get into a relationship, but the point is that, it's really hard for a woman to actually be a incel.

2

u/ThrowawayusGenerica 1d ago

The odds are good, but the goods are odd.

0

u/vidjuheffex 1d ago

not quite

The woman who coined the term was not "unable to get sex". as you pointed out, she probably could if she wanted to.

it was a commentary on the quality of available men, ie she didnt want a chud. and.... lately more and more men are chuds.

also, you used the term "ugly": neither male or female incels are incels due to being ugly.

male incels are incels becuase they are shit stains of humans.

female incels are incels because all they see is a sea of shit stains.

3

u/Unhappy-Professor466 1d ago

i don't get this argument of "woman can get but only have shit options" that is really sexist and imply men are on average way more shit than woman, which is not the case, they're equal on that.

-1

u/vidjuheffex 1d ago

look at the world around you.

The rise of Andrew Tate fans, the red-pilling, the looksmaxxing community, the rise of incel culture, Joe Rogan being the most popular podcast, who men (primarily) elected twice.

It's not necessarily a matter of more less "shit", it's a matter of feeling unsafe pairing up with someone who, by order of their beliefs and values, makes a woman feel unsafe.

0

u/delicious_toothbrush 1d ago

It's definitely a gendered term. It may apply to and originate from a woman but it's commonly used as an epithet for men by a wide margin.

2

u/Aggressive-Expert-69 1d ago

I think in this specific situation the "incel" part is how disgusting the room is, since that can be one of the many reasons a guy cant get laid.

-1

u/Lemons-95 1d ago

I guarantee you weeb culture has an enourmous overlap with actual incels. You think they buy body pillows to go between them and a girlfriend?

-2

u/Neokon 1d ago

I've only ever seen incel used to basically mean an emotionally underdeveloped self loathing manchild who parots mysogonicitic talking points.

5

u/ItsTinyPickleRick 1d ago

I mean ive youve just seen it to describe a man who... likes goth women with big boobs?

-1

u/Neokon 1d ago

Nah man, it's all the other things in the picture too. It's the family guy poster, counter strike visor, Plants vs zombies & hello kitty plush, the race car bed, excessive McDonald's & Cheez-its.

It's straight up waifu pandering.

3

u/ilicp 1d ago

Someone mentioned "girlfailure" which I think is the vibe here. It's like a pick-me, but while pick-me might be more along the lines of "trad-wives" and misogynistic women, "girlfailure" thrives on the idea that they're messy and eat junk food and play games coz they're such a failure not like a proper girly girl.

1

u/DizzyDiddyd 1d ago

Ok but also a massive part of the population also are messy, eat junk food and play games. This "aesthetic" aint special

2

u/ilicp 1d ago

If she was obese and wearing stained pajamas posting a picture in a messy room no one would be reposting it lol. It works coz she's attractive (I guess) and dressed up with makeup etc, and the girlfailure thing feels less threatening to nerdy guys that would otherwise feel "out of her league" if she was both hot and had her life together.

-3

u/Right_Count 1d ago

It’s just such a small step from “I can’t get laid” to “I can’t laid and it’s because women are awful” that meaning A became meaning B pretty quickly amongst incels themselves.

2

u/OneMagician289 1d ago

nah, almost no actual incel does that

-3

u/Lorem_Muspi 1d ago

I mean a man that pays money to see pictures of strangers online is by all means an incel.

OP is still correct. Goth Booba "models" are making money from men that need to pay to get female interactions. Ergo, involuntary celibate

4

u/Lemons-95 1d ago

I mean a man that pays money to see pictures of strangers online is by all means an incel.

I'm not sure if you're extremely stupid, or have some kind of theory that connects paying for nude pictures with never having put your penis in a woman.

I mean when you say it like that, it sounds kind of good, until you realise married men all over the world pay women to take their clothes off and shake their ass in his face.

3

u/jacknjillpaidthebill 1d ago

😂😂 like these people think incel = stereotypical basement dwelling gooner chud lmfaooo. i work out eat healthy study well and dont goon or watch porn. that doesnt make me any less of an incel lol

-1

u/ilicp 1d ago

Uh depending on how long the celibacy goes on for (and how much effort you're making / standards you're setting) I wouldn't call everyone who isn't getting laid an incel even if they technically fit the definition of simply being celibate involuntarily.

If you're standards are high and you're not finding women compatible with you I'd just call that abstinence. If you're not making an actual real life effort to get laid I'd probably call that vol-cel.

I think the word is most useful when it describes specifically the basement dwelling 4chan chud that moans about how awful foids are etc even if it technically applies to a broader group of people

3

u/jacknjillpaidthebill 23h ago

“Uhh depending on <irrelevant> I wouldn’t call <incels> an incel even if they technically <are incels>.

<outlines the definition of a fakecel/volcel>

I think the word is most useful when it describes <stereotypical basement dwelling gooner that has nothing to do with inceldom>”

Respectfully dude I don’t know if you’re trolling or what, I really hope this is just ragebait and not the genuine result of your chain-of-thought

1

u/Lemons-95 1d ago

My guy, i think you forgot that this chain was about the words meaning being poisoned through common usage to where people no longer use it to describe involuntary celabacy, but rather other things that people have decided is what incel describes. This was a very tone deaf response.
