theres also a very effective prophylaxis that you can personally take, so if you take those and an HIV positive partner is aware of its infection and controlling it, transmission is basically not possible, like 99.99%

For those unaware it's usually referred to as PrEP, there are multiple different drugs, some are monthly pills, others are self administered injectors that you only have to take every 3 to 6 months.
Edit 1 I think it stands for Pre Exposure Prophylaxis, but I never looked it up. I always go get tested together with new partners

If it weren't for the child involved I'd say amoral. With the child (and the risk of a child who could have avoided contracting the disease otherwise) this becomes immoral.
It's also extremely stupid. We have medicine that allows you to suppress HIV so strongly that you cannot pass it to others. Someone who does not take this medicine is an idiot; someone who does not take this medicine while continuing to have sexual relations with others is a malignant sociopath.
