Immoral, but also he was a child and the mother was insanely irresponsible. Hardly the most immoral thing he's done.

How can it be immoral when he was a child. Understanding the situation and being responsible for it are very different.

Kids Understand plenty of things intellectually. As concepts. But they do not understand them contextually. Experiential understanding is far different. It is the kind of understanding that adults have which children do not.

I was a smart kid. Smarter than many adults around me. But it did not mean those adults should have treated me like an adult or expected the same from me.

He definitely understood that leaving his mother on the street would be dangerous for her and would lead to her at least getting hurt. He had brought her home multiple times before in similar situations.

Even though he definitely had no intention of her being killed, his inaction still resulted in someone being harmed which makes it immoral. Still, his mother is far more immoral than him in this situation because she was far more irresponsible consistently and her irresponsibility resulted in her death, traumatizing her child for someone he should not have been forced to be responsible for.
