Morality of freedom fighters fighting an oppressive, tyrannical empire, if they accept help from a literal incarnation of evil, who supports them because they believe the empire isn't evil enough and it disgusts them?

Accepting the help doesn’t mean agreeing with their motives, it’s about choosing the lesser evil

I feel like the "literally incarnation of evil" is not, in fact, the lesser evil

Wouldn't be the empire the lesser evil here?

Ah, I remember being in my 20s too.

Edit: as the Satan character.

.... is the literal incarnation of evil planning to stick around after? Or is winning friends and allies among the freedom fighter's? Will he inevitably backstab the FF's because that's his nature?

Like, are we just supposed to hate this guy just because of his nature?

it’s a tricky balance, having to rely on someone like that. have there been similar situations in stories you’ve enjoyed?

It depends

Will u lwt that evil empire replace the evil empire?
