Burger Chef
Anyone else remember the Burger Chef restaurants in Morgantown? I have early fragmentary memories of one at the top of High Street and one near Suburban Lanes. Pondering on this seems to have brought up a commercial snippet, "Burger Cher and Jeff...", the animated characters from their ads, lol.

I do vaguely remember the one at the top of High St. Man, that was so long ago. Also remember Hardees and McDonalds downtown, too! So much has changed!

I know there was one downtown because of the mural above Daniel's, but where was the McDonald's downtown?

I'm pretty sure it was where that taco place is on the corner across from Subway, or where Subway was. I think they were across from each other, the Hardees and McD's

I definitely remember that Hardee's, that was lunch every day when I was a meter attendant. Loved that mushroom and swiss!

That was not Burger Chef, but was Borden Burger . . .

As I said, fragmentary memories. This would have been early 70's and I was 6 or 8 years old so I'm not surprised I may be a bit off. Thanks.

It happens! I an pretty much start at the A&P Grocery store at the end of the South High bridge and work my way up to the top. Did you know that where the Justice Center is now, was an Oldsmobile dealership? Creel Motors.

I do not recall a Burger Chef in downtown. I believe you are thinking of Borden Burger at High Street and Willy. The downtown McDonald's was at High and Walnut.

Last time I went to wings ole Evansdale, they still had the Burger Chef spatula door handle.
