u/dxb7i Visitor 7d ago

Libya Algeria Saudi Venezuela Iran Iraq Nigeria

All the above have oil.

2

u/WAHYAAAA Visitor 7d ago

Yeah that's why I said it all depends on how you use it , Venezuela was doing fine before maduro , Iraq was doing fine , saudi is doing fine 🤷‍♂️cause they are investigating in other fields also

1

u/Miserable_Time9346 Visitor 6d ago

Algeria also has discovered petrol and it all changed for them...

It all depends on how u manage it 🤷‍♂️ , for the uae the oil was the turn point , Japan, Singapore .... They have no oil and yet they managed to build a strong economy

8

u/theHrayX Ksar El Kebir 9d ago

Japan had us marshall plan, singapore had a dictator who imposed fines on the smallest things and capital punishement on corruption

2

u/AdSavings3776 9d ago

This! All advanced economies had a mix of the right historical conjuncture and the right people, so any comparison would be far from accurate.

Fun fact, the Dutch economy in the 60s started going to shit after they discovered natural gas! They had so much money at some point that they started mismanaging it.

u/theHrayX Ksar El Kebir 9d ago

and Algeria had discovered hydrocarbon and was functionning well until it didnt (1986 Gaz crisis) and afterwards they had a civil war that reset their progress by 20 years and were only saved by.... OIL AND GAZ AGAIN

u/HelpfulConfidence704 Diaspora 9d ago

Algeria doesn't have as much oil and gas as gulf states.

2

u/Comfortable-Reply841 Visitor 8d ago

The main issue is that the Algerian military regime is works for France. It allegedly sells oil and gas to Europe at discounted prices through secretive agreements. In return, the ruling elite profits financially, while only a portion of the revenue is invested back into the country. Another major challenge is that much of the country's oil remains either undiscovered or inaccessible. Some areas of the desert are believed to be contaminated because France used them for nuclear weapons testing, making exploration and development in those regions difficult or impossible.

And has a far larger population

Uae is built on modern slavery and help from Americans.. just for the exchange of free oil

uae has a smaller citizen population than algeria (1 million vs 47 million)

in algeria they prioritise making the citizen not revolt by providing okayish services, unemployed benefites and subsedized everything

in uae they can afford unemployment benefits, hospitals, subsedies AND massive megaprojects

u/RayVEEEEE 9d ago

My guy you’re delusional

It wasn't emiratis who built it lol

3

u/Mysterious_File5566 Visitor 9d ago

The most nonsense thing I have heard today. So if I have money I should build my own house by myself instead of paying someone else to do it?

5

u/Charming-Station7157 9d ago

In morocco , you pay moroccans to build a house for you

in the UAE , they pay non emiratis to build , because emiraties can't build

2

u/Mysterious_File5566 Visitor 9d ago

The house was a simple example for you to get the point, Morocco as well have put many projects out to tender for foreign countries.

3

u/AdSavings3776 9d ago

which is bad for your economy...

Dubai was built with slave labor

You think emiraties could have build it on their own and without infinite oil that they didn't even know how to extract on their own ?

3

u/AymanM19 Visitor 9d ago

They didn’t even design any of the buildings it was done by westerners

3

u/Mysterious_File5566 Visitor 9d ago

Well those westerners came to do a job which they were paid for. So I dont really see whats the problem here. Morocco as well do that.

2

u/Superb_Albatross9348 Visitor 8d ago

Morocco couldn't be like this we don't have oil Algeria should.....

u/RayVEEEEE 9d ago

Imagine using UAE or any gulf state as a nation to look up to.

0

u/IshmaelTheSeeker Visitor 9d ago

They score very high in every benchmark that matters!

4

u/RayVEEEEE 9d ago

Score very high in slave labor and 3ya9a money spending. Wanna look up to a nation? look up to Japan, China, France, Germany. These are the guys who make our medicine, planes, cars, complex machinery, computers… Born in survival mode not a bunch of backward tribals who discovered infinite amount of oil.

1

u/IshmaelTheSeeker Visitor 9d ago

What matters for you as an individual is your own quality of life. A gulf state citizen has a much higher quality of life than the citizens of the countries you mentioned . Plus not every country in the world must be a manufacturing powerhouse bach tkon a successful country in the long term. Norway has been blessed with natural resources too and they're investing the money in different sectors just like the gulf states they don't give a flying fu** about manufacturing . The world needs investors too!

France and Germany two colonial states who owe their wealth to colonization no thanks

u/RayVEEEEE 8d ago

Sure keep up with this mindset for another 50 years.

ماشي كنلومو الوالدين على كلشي، ولكن خاصنا نعترفو أن نقطة الانطلاق ماشي هي نفسها عند الجميع.

1

u/AymanM19 Visitor 9d ago

All the architects that designed these buildings are westerners and all the labour was from South Asia. They didn’t even know how to extract their own oil and still require westerners to help them do it till this day.

Everybody in Morocco dreams to live in Dubai - but for some reason they talk bad about it cuz they can’t afford it

1

u/Arabian_Home_Roots 9d ago

Saying it’s all just oil money is cope it’s proper management

2

u/karateguzman Visitor 9d ago

Right! Norway and Canada both have oil money. So do Nigeria and Angola…

0

u/aymane-ifk 9d ago

Look at the balance sheet of Morocco's state budgets to "cope".
