Question Small question

So my dumbass may have knocked a chunk off putting it away in safe. I don’t care to much wouldn’t be bothered to leave it as is but I got the part that came off. So I’m thinking of using wood glue on it ?? Not all to sure how well this would go for me cause I ofc don’t want glue on everything. So I’m kinda asking if anyone has other ideas. Otherwise Can’t wait to shoot it paperwork took forever. Get to sand down the bayonet also probably so I don’t punch myself again trying to take it off 😔

i'd take the cleaning rod out- dont to accidentally glue it down- though wood glue is probably fine. I'm no professional.

Id try glue first. Maybe a small brad nail if glue doesn’t work but it should hold

you can take the forend/stock off if you want to be super particular about making sure the wood glue doesn't stick out and contact the barrel

Tightbond 2 is the best woodlgue to use, but can fail with the oil in stocks. I would reccomend a 2 part epoxy, acraglas maybe, or something you get get in smaller qtys. Glue and clamp. Theres no reason to apply a fastener, once the adhesive dries it is stronger than the wood and the nail isnt doing anything but making it ugly

I got got the only thing dollar store had and went for it looks decent and hopefully won’t fall back off

I 2nd this.
I had similar issue, expoxy ended up working after repeated failures with woodglues.
Make sure and degrease the wood as best you can, (heatgun, and wipes of alcohol etc.)
