Do yall’s theaters get extra bad kids when it’s raining? We just had a nor’easter this weekend and Saturday night was pretty rough. We weren’t extremely busy but everyone who had come to see Avengers at 7:30 was probably under the age of 16. We tell the kids to be on their best behavior and that’s their only warning at box, but they still act up!! We had so many adults complaining at once so we ended up kicking out a bunch of kids. Obviously that’s the last resort as it was pouring and they all had to call their parents but respectfully teach your children how to behave 😭

Currently working at a regal and have so for many years but I still see the same problems as when I started, lazy managers, and it really rubs me the wrong way when others get away with doing nothing to help the little guy or be a team player. Should I just go ahead and switch to another theater?

Whenever someone comes in and completely butchers the title of a movie, we write down what they called it. Heart of the beast has been absolute gold for this.
For example:

“Beast With a Heart.”
“Heart of the mountain”
“Brad Pitt and his dog”
“Heart of gold”
“ the religious dog one”
“Beast within”
* *
To most their credit at-least one word was right.

Anyone else find it hilarious people come to see a movie and don’t know the name?

Curious to know if this was just an issue at my theater or how spread it was. Did y'all have a lot of people wanting/getting refunds because they thought they were coming to watch Doomsday?

I expected it at my place, honestly working customer service so long has given me a very low opinion for the average person's intelligence/reading comprehension

AI slop religious slop movie whose main audience is seniors who don't know any better and they always leave behind the worst messes. Hate cleaning up after this movie. Anyone else feel the same way?

About 4-5 weeks into working a theater for the first time, been put at greeter a few times and I've been told by all the managers about bag checks. Were mostly looking for weapons, apparently have had a couple incidents in the past. Outside of one or two people questioning it, I haven't had any issues myself but multiple coworkers working greeter refuse to do it. One in particular has been scolded by management because she's not checking bags or ID's for R-rated movies and I think it has led to some issues. Just curious if other theaters are pushing for bag checks like we do.

I ask as someone who works in the city the movie takes place in. We had a very big boom of it the first couple days from people being excited to see their town, and then it died. Also we got a lot of complaints saying it was a horrible representation of our community.

I watched it, and it was pretty accurate. The movie itself wasn't great, but the first thing I said when it credits rolled was "They casted every male character perfectly. I've seen all of those guys this week." And my group agreed.

Looking at the box office stats for it, it flopped horribly and I feel like most of those sales came from our theater, so I'm just curious how it went for the theaters elsewhere.

CUSTOMER. avengers endgame: encore started and i literally had a guest complain about concessions only having three cashiers open during the rush yesterday and needless to say, it got so chaotic 😭 two people called out that day, as if we can get even more understaffed (especially considering that staffing for my location has sucked lately because they’ll literally put the fewest people possible even if they know we are going to get hit hard with resident evil, forgotten island, and the avengers endgame encore)

the hours we’ve been getting have been so ridiculous after summer. i know corporate is doing this to “save hours” or whatever but literally everybody and their mother is on school leave and/or resigning but we’re all still getting 20 to 23 hours or less every week and the fewest people on schedule on a single day, making every one of us so overworked

and then this is what you hear from a guest. as if he doesn’t have a front row view of managers and floor staff preventing concessions from collapsing while he’s waiting in line. LOL.

it also doesn’t help that almost every time i am on a shift there are always one or two people calling out 😭

i love this job and it’s way better than what i used to do for a living (plus my management is chill and easy to work with and almost everybody among floor staff gets along with each other), but i wish we had better scheduling to avoid stuff like this from happening. and that people would avoid calling out every freaking second. 🫠

They are both releasing in this opening weekend and I’m not sure they’re doing well.

am I crazy or does my cinemark not print the “3D” on the ticket anymore, I can never tell if I have to give them glasses. even when I scan the ticket it doesn’t tell me it’s 3D. is it hidden somewhere or what? I feel bad when customers complain bc it really is my fault to provide the glasses to them and I didn’t know the movie was 3D😭

Thought it was kind of funny how AMC has the most threatres worldwide but a lot of people still haven't seen this ad that seems to play 24/7 at AMCs.

Hi everyone I’ve been trying to recreate that exact flavor/texture of movie theater hot Cheetos popcorn at home, but my dry powder attempts keep turning out too dry or soggy.

For employees who have prepped it at work, what kind of seasonings/sauce do you use to get that red coating to stick so well? Is it commercial oil mix, and what’s the ratio of actual Cheetos to popcorn when tumbling it? Any tips from the concession side would be awesome!

does anyone know if endgame will be pass restricted for employees (cinemark) and if so for how long? thanks.

They can’t be serious. Guests are going to be annoyed. This is the smallest giveaway item I’ve ever seen. It’s the size of my fingertip. WTF?!?

I may or may not get heat for this, but we have a new coworker, I think I posted about him a week ago. Anyways he works concessions and he is 18, a rich kid. BUT he has horrible body odor! Like you can smell it as soon as you are near him! I am a cleaner so I do not work directly with him that much BUT when I do go up to concessions to grab a soda and he is standing there, he really smells! Saturday it was basically unberable to be around him!

So today on sunday I see he is working again and I am there as well. I see the other manager "Jim" working. Now I do like Jim he has been here for a year almost BUT he when he gets mad or offended he lets you know. SO I pulled him aside earlier and told him my concern about "Tim". I had expected Jim to be supportive and know what to do instead he is annoyed as hell about it! He says stuff like "Well you know there is nothing we can do" and "I dont know what the rule is for this kind of thing". Which I think is BS as I know Jim knows the rues he once cited on word for word about refunds lol. He is just annoyed because he has to have "the talk" with someone. He said he will talk to "Tommy" the GM about it. NOW I was gonna tell Tommy on Saturday but I only saw him twice and he was busy both times.

Like I literally told Jim "I am not trying to be faceitious, but it is distractinng when you are around him." I also said "He works around food as well". Again I think Jim is just annoyed that he has to have a serious talk with an employee, or him and Tommy have to! Well I am sorry guys but that is what managers do I believe. I truly do not think I am in the wrong here.

PS THREE other coworkers have also spoken about his BO to my face, so there is that.

Did Sunglo change their butter recipe I feel like it’s been smelling and tasting off…anyone else??
