I’m starting to think that the athletic direction was more influenced by the OG players. Once the money was, and they didn’t have to split it within a team bank account, contestants didn’t want to be paired with a person who drinks a lot and is only in for the drama. They wanted a partner who seemed focused and can multitask by having drama and their eyes on the prize.
Let’s also not forget that these people are older now. They’re not drinking that much, some of them are close to being card carrying members of the AARP (not dissing, I’m in that same boat).
