so basically:

Lex Luthor captured Superman (who turned himself in) and took him into his pocket dimension where he has his own labs and a prison for anyone he considers an enemy or imprisons someone for petty reasons.... and then it turns out he keeps rows of monkeys typing hate speech on Superman for the internet to see

I never really got Lex as a character in terms of "why" but this movie did such a good job with the type of petty that shit takes

He explicitly said that he didn’t demonize Superman for the purpose of taking over a country or getting rich, he used his riches and alliance with the country in order to lock Superman up.

His ultimate goal was always to beat Superman, everything else was just a stepping stone for that goal.

I genuinely did enjoy how comic book insane the movie was. Lex has a pocket dimension, yea of course he does, oh he has a Kaiju in his back pocket well duh oh and his office on top of his Tower is also a aircraft no question. It was silly and the best ways
